Intel Battlemage Live & Available to order from OcUK

This might be worth watching for some people on here.

Puts the CPU debate to rest, if you have older than 5600, 12400f, then you may need to upgrade to not get left behind.

Also, the B580 being CPU limited at 1080p due to driver/architecture limits explains a lot. This level of overhead probably means it won't age well.

That is a very sizeable limitation for a budget card. Hopefully it's driver based and can be resolved, makes the slightly higher overhead or Nvidia over AMD look paltry by comparison!

I'd be curious to see how much of an issue it is on a 5600 class CPU.

Just got my invoice a few minutes ago. Should be interesting to see if i have any issues with my 7700x

Looking forward to playing with it and getting rid of my 1070ti (i originally thought i just had the base 1070) although i feel maybe i should have gone AMD after looking at videos and spent a little more money

7700XT from quick youtube comparison is about 20-25% faster

The overhead issue doesn’t effect CPUs that new

It can't & won't be resolved, just like it wasn't on Nvidia (compared to AMD), and just like all the other big issues that happen on GPUs (let's not forget the myriad of issues on Alchemist) don't get "fixed" except through a new generation. It's best people accept it and just make a decision accordingly rather than hoping for fixes.
And the issue is clearly something else, and they're testing unsupported CPUs. On which it doesn't work so well. Whodathunkit?
HardwareUnboxed commented on reddit:
This is a CPU overhead issue, it's as bad with the 3600 and even problematic with the 5600.

It was very interesting how AMD had an overhead issue in DX11 games and it got flipped the other way under DX12 with their newer designs.

TPU had to upgrade their test rig because Ada Lovelace was CPU limited on the previous generation CPUs.

It would be good if reviewers tested new dGPUs on both a fast rig and slow rig.
