Intel Battlemage Live & Available to order from OcUK

£250 is where it needs to be, £300 is a no. Especially looking at that cpu overhead.

I agree at £300 it's close to AMD's and Nvidia. It really needs to be a product that offers gob smacking performance undersells competition and make a massive name of itself. ie there was a brand of subwoofer that was available to buy in the UK, it competed to SVS's and they cost 100% more. Something like that, where it's such a bargain you would bung it onto a credit card.

If it's 10% less what's the freaking point.

Man, as a lifelong Intel user, it's shocking seeing them get demoed at every turn.

So you can only use their budget GPU with brand new CPU's. This is absurd. This is a monster issue. Let me repeat this - a budget GPU that needs the latest CPUs to be competitive.

What is going on at Intel. This is a string of incompetence you just don't expect from such an established and ubiquitous company

Further testing on the CPU overhead issue

Imo the B580 is DOA, I could never recommend ARC to anyone with this serious of an issue.

33% drop in Spiderman going from 9800x3d to 7600? Disgraceful.

It's a testament to the work NVIDIA and AMD have put into their drivers when you see their cards completely unfazed as the CPU gets slower. Rock solid performance from the 4060, even with a 5600. The B580 gets obliterated.

HUB is actually going to re-review the B580 with a 5600 CPU, which should hopefully put pressure on Intel.

... at 1080p where it's likely CPU bound.. you'll notice in your video that the RTX card performance scaled with better processors - not just an intel issue, just exacerbated at 1080p... good job there's plenty of data at 1440p ;)

On every CPU. I use 7600x and b580 falls of a cliff while 4060ti and rx7700 performs very well
Not on every CPU, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing the benchmarks of it beating the 4060 in most cases, and the much more expensive 4060ti in a few cases (just not your beloved x-plane apparently ;))

I'm running an i7-12700K, I don't expect to run into too many issues personally

Run 1440p and problems solved? It smashes the likes of the 4060 at higher resolutions even when not vram limited.

Isn't that just pretending the problem doesn't exist?

If the B580 gets 55fps at both 1080p and 1440p and the 4060 gets 80fps at 1080p and 50fps at 1440p, then yes the B580 wins at 1440p, but you lose the ability to play at a higher frame rate.

At least with NVIDIA/AMD you have the choice.
