Intel Battlemage Live & Available to order from OcUK

I'm not sure it's up for debate.

Predominately American reviewers are praising it based on it's $249 rrp (ignoring sales taxes), whilst either comparing to NVIDIA cards that are ~$299 (whether that includes sales tax or not idk).

In the UK market it's £250, and either a 3060 or 4060 can be had for £250. Therefore it's not quite as attractive as it appears in the american reviews.

The pros and cons of the B580 are clearly up for debate. If you don't agree with this then maybe lock this thread?

They have a large incentive to keep up with GPU tech because of iGPU. The architecture is shared between iGPU and dGPU. The money is currently with AI. A lot of what they pour into AI applies to GPU's. Short of a full implosion the GPU's will remain as part of their strategy. I'm very tired of this point that's been repeated for a long time now.

As long as their next nodes in the next few years are anywhere close to projections, they'll be able to manufacture decent modern parts in their fabs again and go back to being competitive and profitable. If their next nodes fall well below expectations, all bets are off for the company as a whole.
I hope you are correct santa we need competition to help keep pricing under control or Nvidia would screw all gamers for what they could get. This Intel Gpu looks like a good little card for 1440p gaming.

Do you really think it will make a difference in Nvidia pricing? I doubt it (I wish it did though) also if next gen 5060 is still 8GB shows not listening to the consumers.

I am slowly losing my patience. When will you give ETA for pre-ordered b580 LE? Your silence does not bode well to get it before Christmas. I got rid of my graphics card hoping to get a new one for Christmas.

no one here (Other than @Gibbo on the off chance that he sees your post) can answer your question, we don't work for OcUK. The correct method of contacting them is via the web ticker system: https://help.overclockers.co.uk/hc/en-gb/requests/new

When will you give ETA for pre-ordered b580 LE?
I'd suggest that unfortunately as it was a "Limited Edition" it may already be completely sold out - but again contacting OcUK via the above will likely be able to confirm this, or offer you alternative options.

Harsh, but unfortunately that's on you, not on OcUK or anyone else.

I ordered mine on Tuesday 10th, I sent an email last weekend asking about an ETA which wasn’t immediately replied to, so I called up Monday gone, they informed me that stock was due this week, they eventually replied to my email too and their email reply echoed what they told me on the phone.
So they either gave me the wrong information or the wrong info is being given here.
I’m getting a little worried now too as this was ordered as one of the main Xmas gifts for my lad.
Disappointing considering the very first post on this thread stated there’ll be “ample supply” of Intel cards on the 13th.

These are just desperate attempts to get your support because no one knows anything.
I don't know anything - I don't work for the OcUK "shop".

Why did they accept prepayments then?
Presumably because they had no idea how "limited" the stock would be either. There is no guarantee how many or the LE cards were available for the UK market, let alone individual retailers. Neither Intel or OcUK could also predict the reviewer reaction to the card, which has lead to increased sales or what would normally be a fairly underwhelming entry level card.

The LE now looks to have been removed from OcUK's website, so I would suggest contacting them and discussing what alternative options you have.

If you are dead set on a card for a Christmas present, then I can only suggest that you get an in-stock AMD or NVIDIA alternative - performance will be close enough in most cases that it will not matter, with your choices essentially being the RX7600 that's a little cheaper and slightly slower, the 3060 12gb that's a bit slower but has 12gb for "perceived longevity", or the 4060. As Gibbo has said above, there is no guarantee that any more Intel B580 stock will land in time for Christmas delivery.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £767.96 (includes delivery: £7.99)

Cheers for the reply and for taking your time to show alternative cards, I did consider these but I’m pretty set on the Intel card.
Regarding the LE card being removed from the website, I did notice that but was assured when I called up that the new batch of deliveries they’re receiving of these cards has been allocated to the preorders they’ve received, mine included.

This is a portion of the email they’ve sent me “Great news! The stock is anticipated to arrive by the end of this week. As soon as we receive it, we'll get your order shipped out right away”

Thanks again for your help.
