Intel Core i7-11700K Review: Blasting Off with Rocket Lake

people paying 300 for a 6 core amd cpu which should be 200 tops

Why should it be £200? The 10600K was £250+ until long after the 5600X came out, now that it is inferior it has been reduced in order to keep it competitive, between the 3600x and 5600x.

if the amd pricing and gouging scalping wasnt bad and they were priced properly then yes amd would be like the dogs danglies.

You never once said this about Intel when they were selling the 8700K at over £400, it the 9900K at £500+.

You have an inherent bias, it is very easy to see and you don't actually use any of the newer parts from either vendor, yet another vocal person with no real life experience.

the 1600 , 2600 , 3600 were in the 200 pound sector or under. so the replacement came in the 5600 and straight to 300. its 100 pound too much. sectors are set. its not about speed performance. its where the product sits. it in the same position where its predecessors were but the price has been yanked up. to profit. its a 6 core lol. you have to remember to compare also against a 8700k which is 3 and a half years old now . so not even relevent based on the time performance. at the time that was a fast chip. now amd offering a similar performance for a bit less 3 and a half years later. they should be 200 at launch. no more. 6 cores are getting on.

you have to compare like for like at the same time of launch. amd or retailers are basically just taking the ****

i have zero bias. i own intel and amd systems. i just buy what i think is right.

The average price for the 3600X last October was ~£250 when the 5600X launched at ~£280. I dare say if we weren't in the midst of a pandemic those prices might well be a good £30 less.

I'm using his numbers, just highlighting a point that he has inherent bias. Disappeared now as he has no answer to the discussion from the previous few posts, typical troll though, post bombing with written diarrhoea.

So how come the 5600x should be £200, if the 3600x was £250, and the 10600k the same?

oh my it started rising with the 3600. also the 10600k was available way under the price you suggested. so if you want to dispute it at least put in the proper prices. 10600k could be had about 210 - 220 at launch.

lets do this yeah. put in the actual launch prices of the previous sector prices of the 1600 , 2600 , 3600 , 5600. they are all in the same market sector then dispute 5600 is not price gouged or too expensive.

AMD Ryzen 5 3600X: $249 (about £200, AU$360)

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X: $299 (around £230, AU$420) before gouging and scalping the actual price is

£329.99 :D

yeah so no over pricing there at all.

ohhh...look at the retail actual price vs the scalping over priced current price its like wait....

£100 like i said.

The 5600X has an RRP of £256.81 at the moment, it performs very well in games and most general tasks, so I think it's well priced. It beats every other 6 core CPU out there and comes with an AMD cooler.

The 5800X is a bit overpriced at RRP of £385.66 imo. It should probably cost about 33.3% more (so, ~£340), due to the 33.3% increase in core count. And no AMD cooler!

Buy at RRP - problem solved :p

Intel sell a 6 core 12 thread CPU for £250 but AMD can only sell a 6 core 12 thread CPU for £200.

Nutty logic isn't it? AMD's CPU is better, perhaps Intel should drop their price.
Yeh dave will be along next no doubt i see he asked gibbo in a thread when we can pre order i9 11 series now we all know where hes going with this next question how much stock and we all know he wont be buying one which makes it more hillarious just more trolling :D

Why is the 5600X selling out instantly? I thought it was overpriced. There's a reason why it is higher than the £280 it launched at in most stores.

11600K may change that, but the 10600K isn't really any competition, 5600X trounces it.

Especially when you consider the 5600X has upgradeability all the way up to the 5950X. We are talking a £30 to £50 premium for better performance and a decent upgrade path. Also has much more pci-express bandwidth (24 pcie4 lanes vs 16 pice3 lanes) which is becoming more important with nvme devices and new graphics cards.

These Intel die hards are comical though. 10th gen is really good price right now almost as good as 5000 series in gaming and can be had for good prices, like what Zen 2 was to 9th and 10th Gen.

No need to grasp at straws for 11th Gen when everyone can see its rubbish, Intel must pay likes of ASUS and Gigabyte a fortune for those ultra high end water cooled boards for a dead platform like Z590.
