Intel Core Ultra 9 285k 'Arrow Lake' Discussion/News ("15th gen") on LGA-1851

I mentioned motherboards. It applies to graphics cards too. and other things. cpu's too of course, but excepting the 2400G, I've never had a bad one. (including the 5600G i have, which has passed the glitch-free test) and yes im sure there are those who have had their experiences regardless of what brand it is.

die shots, tiles. mm yeh it's a different animal. 18A redesign anyone...?
but i'll donate to the anti-monopoly foundation. it was amd, now the underdog is intel <3 that is where my donations go.

more details on the ring bus implement and interposer would be nice.

What board do you have ? Might be worth checking the QVL.

These are on the QVL, a decent buy?

Idle power consumption seems to be decent on the 265K. Appears to be lower than my old 7800X3D. Don’t have any issues cooling it with my NH-D15 so far, in a Torrent case.

Even then Intel 14th gen has far lower idle power consumption than the AMD 7000 series - due to the SoC/IF power draw you have to go to significant lengths to get the CPU package draw below ~18 watt on them and 22-35 or so is quite normal - when the Intel E cores actually work as intended you can get the package power down to 1/10th of that under low utilisation states.

Actual draw at the wall isn't so dramatically different when including the whole system and PSU efficiency, etc.
