INTEL RAPTOR LAKE NOW AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER !

13600k is a little OC beast. Samples I’ve seen, let’s say you’ll be past the 13900k stock clocks. IMC same as 13900k as well.
6 P cores though!!! and will people take advantage of the IMC with a budget end CPU when high frequency DDR5 is so expensive... I am not sure.... High frequency DDR5 is still only impacting performance positively in very select scenario.......

Well got my 13900K ordered and maximus extreme mobo, have you had a play with that board yet @8 Pack ?

Though guessing Asus are doing Asus things and probably wont turn up until december again like the glacial boards last gen :D

Interesting stuff. Mostly relevant to gamers - Notably not seeing much gain in the CIV 6 AI bench.

Seems legitimate, it does say 13900K in the BIOS.

Nice to see DDR5 working @7200 MT/s. My guess is that Intel is saving gear 1 mode for Meteor Lake.

The top spec (6800-7800MT/s) Teamgroup RAM should sell quite well.

13600k is ideal for a budget build and reusing ddr4 bdie with z690 pro-a or prime-p. DR bdie at 4100+ is still strong.

The real star of the line up is the 13700k. You get an upgraded 12900ks with better heat transfer and OC headroom. And cheaper.

@ScottiB can you add anything to this, would be nice to get a board(Hero) with the cpu at launch!! or at the very least a bit of an idea of when????
Z790 supply is in the toilet thanks to the decision to launch the platform at the tail end of a Chinese national holiday.
I'd bet my house that nobody will have spare stock of Hero tomorrow simply because I'd expect everyone to have collected a decent number of back orders and doubt that anybody received more than 10 units.

I've been spitting fire about this and Asus have promised to get me enough stock to clear back orders by early next week.

Will you have any stock for the pre orders, placed mine a few weeks ago, thanks for your response

They are not comparing like for like - Frame Chasers is max OC, he doesn't test stock.

For a stock config there will be a larger difference by the increase in boost clocks on 13900K alone.

Mainstream tech tubers and people who tune their systems are like night and day difference.

Precisely. For silly youtuber of course the newer Intel chip will look faster cause they run the base clocks higher every gen but unless there is a large IPC boost, overclockers and tuners with previous gen chips will find little difference

The unfortunate thing is this means until AMD's Zen4 3D arrives next year or Intel's Meteor lake arrives, no CPU in the world can handle an RTX4090 without issue

lol £380 is a budget CPU now? Just go alder 12600k or the ones without the e-cores. Who needs E-cores, not gamers.

12700k is around the same price with 2 extra P cores
