Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

For me, this entire release revolves around the 8600k coming in at a decent price point. Since it performs seemingly like a 7700k, but is a generation newer and a tier lower, anything nearing or above £250 is too much. Otherwise Ryzen 1600 is the way to go.

The i5 8600K looks like it's going to be pretty close to the R7 1600 pricing.

Frankly I think the i5 8600k's a smashing price if it comes in around 180-190, because of the clocks + IPC it should be consistently beating the 1600

190? 0 chance of that happening, I think you are forgetting VAT and then OCUK tax. That would price the I7 at 270 quid which is close to the price of the kabylake I5 6600k, never going to happen.

Have any of you found some good RAM deals? Best I can find is 16GB Patriot 3200mhz for £143; which seems like a good, but still crazy price for RAM.

16gb ram at that speed is around that sort of price to be honest. I've certainly not seen it much cheaper than the price you've come up with. It seems to be around the 150ish mark.

Yeah the price has to be right this time. We have loads of stuff offering this kind of performance.

Agreed^ I just tried and it works. It'll cost £16 to deliver a 8700 non k in 2 to 4 days to UK
I know they ship to the UK normally I buy stuff from there all the time but when you go to checkout it removes it from the basket. Will be the NDA thing but total cost for it with import tax and 2 day delivery comes to £247 so if UK sites are any more than that I know where i will be buying mine from plus you might get lucky as sometimes I do and don't get charged import tax. (which I've obviously reported to the HRMC straight away of course..... )
