Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

a lot of vendors are putting too much voltage for 4.7 at auto settings on boards. Tune to 1.2V core to 1.225V or lower.

Cheers for the advice. I've noticed that in the past. To be honest even at stock I tend to set vcore manually, as you say most boards tend to overvolt at auto. I always cringe when some people use the auto overclocks that they provide lol (although not sure if auto overclocks have improved in recent times).

I sometimes get a guilty pleasure from undervolting and seeing how much I can lower vcore to run at stock :)

1.2 for 4.7ghz sounds good, although I've got no experience how that compares to the 7700k's on average.

Also it must be really annoying for all the board makers. 'hey look we've made 13 different Z370 boards, even though Z390 will be so much better just so we could get some stock on shelves. Oh wait, you don't have any chips now? Cheers Intel'
On the bright side, by the time K chips are plentiful, Z390 boards will be available and prices will have settled down.

Motherboards have now started appearing on the rainforest. Like the 8700k, they don't appear if you search the website itself, but if you type rainforest and then 8700k and rainforest z370 it'll show.

I'm going to be refreshing at midnight just incase.....Although rather than having stock ready to go, I think it's just a placeholder for when they get stock but who knows....

Someone on another forum has one already, lucky bugger...

I'm literally staying awake just to see for the next 20mins

I'm doing the exact same thing. I've actually got a retailer link up in one of my tabs with the 8700k, in the hope it becomes available. I'll also check the usual suspects just incase but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'm now even tempted to pick up a 7700k, and just chop it in next year for a Z390 and 8 core lol

That chart tells me to keep hold of my 6700K :D

Honestly if I still had skylake I'd not even be bothered about the 8700k and wait it out for the 9700k. I still think the quad core intels are good for a year at least in terms of top gaming performance.

I was seriously thinking about an 8700K as i've started streaming on Twitch more now, but my Corsair HX520 is finally dying so i have ordered an EVGA GQ 650w coming tomorrow, which has thrown a spanner in my works, or maybe it threw a blessing there instead.. :p i can wait though, fresh install of Windows 10 the other day has fixed a lot of issues i had, even game stuttering was really bad in DayZ but is now fixed.

Then again i had not freshly installed Win 10 since before its release as i was on the thingymabob before it.. just wish i had done this months ago now :)
