Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

ASRock Extreme4. I've had my most recent two motherboards from ASRock and they have been solid and this one seems to tick all the boxes I need.

Reasonably priced here on OCUK too, seen it higher elsewhere.

Did you purchase this board before they upped the price on it a bit? I also purchased the Extreme4, and noticed they increased the price just after when I purchased it :D

cheers, so i3 K beating Ryzen ... mmmm

A bit pricey but when you compare to MSi Godlike it's a bargain.

yet to see the godlikes price. will brew a nice hot tea first and sit at my desk before looking

I still wouldn't buy one though - look at the DF review of the Core i5 7600K which at 4.8GHZ actually seem to have a weird performance profile in games:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-ryzen-5-1600-1600x-vs-core-i5-7500k-review

Read through it very carefully. That Core i3 8350K will be similar performance to an overclocked Core i5 7600K. See how in more CPU limited situations it has worse performance but in CPU light situations it pushes ahead, which skews the averages.

Remember that is a 4.8GHZ Core i5 7600K too. Now consider the Core i5 8400 boosts upto 4GHZ - it most likely will beat a 4C/4T CPU where it matters.

I would get a Core i5 8400 or Ryzen 5 1600/1600x over the Core i3 8350K.

yeah, your logic is sound - running LoL for max frame rates i can see i3 @ 4.9 being a good little buy

What's the all-core boost of the i5 8400? I can see 4ghz is single core boost, but nothing about all-core boost
