They are not tricks people are paying for a service and guaranteed above stock performance and thermals. We sell 100s of these delid binned units per year are all these guys stupid??
ordered received email at 2:33pm , order placed at 2:17 and in process on webpage- i fear the worst
Hmm, that is the exact same times as mine
8Pack as done a thread explaining the process and also voltages used for this chip if you are interestedLooking at the store page for the new pre-binned 5.1ghz cpu's. It doesn't show any details like what voltage was used to achieve this etc. When I bought my pre-binned 7700k it had a detailed write up on the store page with voltage settings for the OC. Will this info be updated for the new cpu's? I am looking to purchase but I want more info before I do. Thanks in advance

Actually both have now been dispatched.khan! lol
depends what your after- if you wanted a full build believed he said for you to call up and would have sorted a build before chips went live- if your after a bundle deal with himself overclocking it (mobo/cpu/ram/cooler) you may get lucky .... but you'd have to call up
think you may be out of luck now till stock comes in

If you won't use SMT and aren't interested in a future-proof platform, then yeah it looks like a nice option.Reading the reviews am I actually better off going the 8400 intel instead of 1600x?

DOUBLE KHAN!
Reading on the Techpowerup review, the 8400 will only clock to 3.8GHz across all cores, and 4GHz on single thread. They was unable to increase the clock speed to 4GHz across all cores no matter what they did.mmmm didnt bother to look at the 8700 non k- boosting to 4.6- wonder if it'll be like the 8400 and boosting to max across all cores.... mmmmm
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Intel/Core_i5_8400/17.htmlTechpowerup - i5 8400 Review said:The Intel Core i5-8400 doesn't have the K suffix in its name, which indicates an unlocked multiplier. That means that you can't overclock it easily.
One option is to increase the BCLK, which can be raised to 102 MHz or 103 MHz from 100 MHz, but not more, for a 3% performance uplift, in theory.
The second option is to adjust the CPU boost settings, making it so that the highest boost state is enabled not just for single-threaded workloads, but all - no matter the core count.
When we tested the latter, we noticed that no matter what we did, the maximum frequency the CPU would run at was 3800 MHz, not 4000 MHz as you would expect by going with the maximum-rated boost frequency.
Whether this is a bug or a feature is unknown at this time.
Temperatures were of course not an issue and voltage changes were not needed, either, since the processor was always operating very close to its out-of-the-box power and heat levels.
