Asus Hero. Wanted an Apex but they're not available yet.
I got a binned rated at 5ghz. Got a custom loop with two rads so ill be messing about getting the air out of that tonight.^^ Nice! Look forward to seeing some of your results tonight then
Did you buy binned? Or the Regular one?

^^ Hell of a buy! 5.2Ghz binned is £800! Personally would never pay for that, I doubt most of the 8700Ks will struggle for 5Ghz.

That's a lot of voltage. What kind of oc can you get on the memory and cache?

Voltage may be less, I'm just speculating.
Haven't tried OCing cache or memory yet, will dabble later.
I've got 4266 C19 sticks, so the sticks themselves won't be the limiting factor in memory OC.
@jigger Intel's max for 14nm chips is 1.52v

After delid on custom water 1.425-1.45 is fine I think. Aio 240mm around 1.4-1.42.
Our binned are 1.35-1.4 for the given speed. Usually 1.37.

Yeah but you have more than just the core voltage to increase. 1.4v x6 alone will get toasty.
I'd try and get the memory to 4266Mhz first.

grabbed the gigabyte 7 board as i feel it fits all my needs.
creative on board, maybe it will as good as my z97+omni.
i do love the led stuff and its been a take it or leave it thing, but addressable is a whole new story and we now have it
built in, software and all.
my 6600k is fine and my 6700k will go for years yet but the 6600k micro atx gaming ac board is faulty and i have to
jam the cpu fan to get it hot or it loses one ram slot and the pci-e port so lets go all new.
when will the next wave of 8700k be in stock, i dont mind waiting 4-8 week, i will pre order and forget as i want a
1070ti or rx56 to go with.

Well, 4266 / 4133 /4000 wouldn't boot. I'd get fail codes 49 and 55 - seen it all before on Z270.
Just like the Z270 code, you've got to use B bank for the DIMMs for high frequency.
This is pretty much the best I can do - there is scope to tweak the tertiary and TRAC & TFRC timings (maybe 1T), as well as cache frequency. I just really need an Apex!
I could probably tweak the voltage, but for test purposes I used 1.3vcio / 1.3sa / 1.45 vdimm / 1.4vcore (vcore set higher than i needed really), and tweak mode 2.
Not sure if it was throttling during the CB run, but score looks reasonable.
