Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

dont know mate just what ive seen 8pack say to use
If you stress test with non AVX software now and down the line start using say a video encoding application that uses AVX2 it's highly likely your system will be unstable.
I think the AVX offset should be set conservatively now even if you are stress testing without using AVX now.

Isnt asus real bench avx?
Whatever people are using to stress test they should find out if it uses AVX.
Either way, you should use an AVX offset as otherwise you are artificially limiting your O/C due to an ISA extension that most software doesn't currently use.
That's a bit like stress testing a GPU using FF64 and lowering clocks when games only use FP32 which allow higher clocks.

take it in avx offset in bios moving from auto to say -2 or -3 is what you mean so it downclocks ?

Doesn't RealBench also do some handbrake encoding with X264? So it most likely makes use of some AVX.
It covers most of your bases I think.

Prime95 is good because it will really hammer those FMAs.

I skipped getting a pre-binned chip at the last minute, so far I'm super happy with my non-delidded 8700K. 5ghz at 1.3V/1.28V after vdroop. 70-72C with my NZXT X62 at quiet settings. Not tried pushing it any further yet!

Taken my PUBG FPS from the 55-80 to 100-130. Absolute madness.

i think so much of it is the chip like rich had 5.4 on the asus mobo i think mine wont go past 5.2 no matter what i try

Yeah, some times is the damn mobo also :/

I have an Gigabyte X99 Ultra, however cannot pass the 4Ghz mark on the 6800K regardless, and is watercooled.
Tested it on a colleague's MSI X99 Carbon back in June. The exact same chip did 4.5 at 1.27v on the Carbon. And his 5960X was doing happily 4.7 on the Ultra gaming. Go figure.

And because I am not buying another X99 mobo, was looking the 8700K to upgrade, however got disappointed with the overall perf at 2560x1440.
With the 1080ti, ain't going to see but 1 fps difference between 4Ghz and 5Ghz at that res.
