Intel Xeon 3200 Series arrive at OcUK!!

AMDPower said:
guys if you dont mind how about some overclock results when they arrive? :D

i am so close to buying one, but might hold out for the new G0 revision cores, since i am in no rush for a new cpu but if 3.0ghz is easily possible then dont think i can hold any longer.

Is it worth waiting till July for these instead of getting a current X3210 ?

Sounds like they may be a better bet.

looking at the system in your sig, i would say why not. unless you are dying for 4 cores + application that uses them, then i would say yes go get one now. The G0 stepping should theoretically OC better by how much who knows.

Seems either Orphos wasn't running, or it was not really running since 3dmark06 was using all the cpu power.
Happy with that score for stock settings.

Board is an Asus P5B deluxe wifi.

I'm wondering whether all the cores are running properly, since the temps on cores 3 and 4 isn't anywhere near as hot as 1 and 2 under load.

*looks about if there are meant to be any drivers or anything*

Where are cores 1-2 located on the chip?

Mine has a deffinate rise in the middle of the ihs, so could be their located off from the middle if you know what i mean, giving the increase in temp.

ok results are in for me,

at stock volts i can get to 380mhz fsb so 3.08ghz.

Any increase on that an things get tooooo hot!!

idel its 40c using tat, but as soon as i load it all up it shoots upto the 60c's

Its gaming stable at the moment, but im on call out, and just gotten in. So i cant test full stability.

As long as its gaming stable thats fine with me on this rig, until i water cool and then i can really play with it. :D

nice results there, what cooler are you using?

how do you find it over the 6400?

Big Wayne, dude i have seen you crop up in a lot of threads ;)

sorry dude i may be on ocuk but i am not going to set my machine running for 24hours running orthos, prime such other crap.

My machine is used for gaming and mucking about on. Any pc i need 100% stable is left at stock ;) This isnt a personal attack on you mate as i know a lot of other people jump on the same bandwaggon :D

I work 8 hours plus a day running an IT department and being on call out. I really cant be bothered trying to prove an O/C is 100% stable. As long as i can game on it and its not crashing left right n center then i am happy.

Im not claiming to have a 100% stable massive oc so i dont feel the need to have to prove it to anyone ;)

Edit Big W. just read ya post again, should be able to get some screenies for ya this eve re 4 cpus and such.
Also with tat, it only shows 2 cores at the top, but mentions all 4 in the actual temp mon. window at the bottom if that makes any sense? the text part.

For the rest of you. Im using a coolermaster Gemini II cooler.
currently running stock voltage at 380mhz fsb x 8 = just over 3ghz. 3.04.

Only had a quick play mate, got called out to oxford police station lastnight, didnt get home again till 1am this morning, and now back in work at luton airport :(

To be honest from the quick play i had with it lastnight i dont notice that much difference. Windows did seem to boot faster. but thats probably due to the new hardware syndrome lol. I was disapointed i couldnt get it work straight off at 400mhz on the fsb so 3.2ghz but there we go.

Think the intel bad axe2 may not be the best board for it lol

any suggestions? Thinking of trying vista hp 64bit on it tonite as long as i dont get called out again :(

Really interesting post and the price is so tempting.

So what are these topping out at?

Currently running a 29B 6600 at [email protected] volts and while I don't really need 4 cores I do really fancy a play with one of these gems :D

Latest silicon on the 6600 are very poor. I have seen a lot of F's that dont clock well and need lots of volts.

Would be interested i knowing the batch numbers.

Keep up the good work guys :D

"Its a SL9UQ malay, where can i find some info on this?

Found out its a b3 stepping"

Is that what you mean? or the long FPO number on the box, in which case that will have to wait till just after 5pm when i get on from work :D

BTW dude, wouldnt these equate to a quad 6400 in reality, as their at an 8x multi. not the 6600.

Melbourne720,
The Motherboard supports quad core processors. I have not heard of any issues
with any of those processors. Make sure you are running the most recent BIOS
version from our website.

Thank you,

Have BFG been keeping their head in the sand about this?

Anyone got a good link to point the 'confused' BFG man to?

Batch number should be something like this

L629B XXXX

I think you are right they are the equivalent of a 6400 Quad.

mine should be the same as pinks,

Ok guys quick one then, the bad axe2 i think is the limiting factor, with both my 6400 and the x3210. With the 6400 i could only get a max of 400mhz on the fsb and thats with 4gb worth of G-Skill 6400 HZ's i could only run the mem 1:1 also.

So should i just go hit the buy button on the abit quad gt :D
