An unfortunate by-product of those 'dating rules' that some people follow.

Cosmo, FHM, all these mags tell people what time-scales to use, or what to say, don't seem to eager, etc, and it just confuses people.

A guy might really be interested, but taking the 3 day rule advise, waits to contact the girl, who at the same time thinks he's not interested and moves on as she isn't doing the 3 day rule.

This is why I just go with my gut. If that doesn't work, then we weren't meant to happen. I don't like playing games and crap.
 
Ive was following this thread with some interest. However, I know this is going to sound may be a bit odd. Don’t you find it a bit scary effectively going on a blind date? Also I know internet dating seems to becoming more and more common these days why do some people turn there noses up at it? I have though about setting this up but i don't know where to start? What are the better sites?
 
Plentyoffish is totally free and while maybe not as pretty as the paid sites offers just as much in terms of functionality in my opinion.

I've dabbled with them before and quite frankly I'm not in a position where I would PAY on the off chance of something coming of it. I may be a little biased as of my location and very limited users whom are local.

I would start with a free site as the "Free trial" of the paid ones which dont let you look at more than X number of profiles or be messaged by other users kind of defeats the entire point of the service.

Ill have a look at that over the weekend. I dont think id want to pay for any thing at the mo as ive never used any thing like this before i am a bit sceptical at the mo.

Do you have any hints and tips etc.. ?

I think POF has stopped working for me. It says no one has looked at my profile in ages, before I had quite a few girls looking, like they probably checked who viewed them and had a look back.

I also find that they don't bother to reply to matter what I put in the message. I give up.

andyd - dating direct looks similar to match and is free. I found it was quite good.

Krooton - I hate all these dating "rules" drives me insane everyone should just be themselves. When i first got talking to the guy i met in the pub he would text back precisely 10 minutes after my message. lol

There not rules, more like guidelines for the complete hopless :D

If you want to text someone, do it. If they dont reply back after a few days then take it as there not interested and move on.

Thats how I would take this whole thing.

Take it all with a pinch of salt.

Don't abide by ' rules ' or play games. Just do what you want to do. If not you may regret it and if you don't get a reply or anything just move on and find some one else
 
well i was going to text him on Tuesday just saying thanks for a nice evening but as he said he would text i was waiting first so would it seem weird if i sent a text now just saying something like "sorry for the late text but just wanted to say thanks for monday, i had a nice evening :)" (i thought i should say thanks again as he paid)
 
I'd forget about him SS.

I know all guys are different but I'd find it hard to wait for the 3 day rule if I really liked a girl. I'd have texted the same night/following morning. Silly games are annoying!
 
ah this is so confusing. ok im just going to leave it lol

edit: was just having a browse at who's viewed my profile and saw under his name it said active within 24 hours. if he's had time to go on match he's had time to text so i've got the hint. ah well.
