Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

I am going on a date with a girl I met on POF tonight, but she seems way too pretty and nice to go on a date with me, do you think she has skeletons in her closet? I am kind of nervous as i have never done this Internet dating thing before.

Good luck dude. I know how you feel. I am just plucking the courage to do my first call to a girl I met on POF.

Pathetic I know......

Once you've met a few and been blown out by their ineptness (and you begin to think, no wonder they are single) it gets much easier to meet people from there. :D

Interesting thread.

Had a look through PoF instead of working this afternoon to see whether it's worth my while giving it a try - I'm a terrible self-promoter ;)

My question to the experts is this: There's a pretty girl on there who's a receptionist over the road. Do I (a) Sign up to PoF, put on some terrible pictures and drop her a message or (b) Accost her in the street and attempt to arrange a date that way? She's a looker so I'd be punching above my weight.

TIA.

P.S. Comedy (c) Kidnap / chloroform poll option for the rabble.

I'd say the best advice for meeting people off PoF is meeting somewhere public for coffee and a 'quick chat'.

Even if you have nothing else to do that day, pretend you have an appointment and can only fit them in for 15 minutes / half hour. Takes the pressure off having a huge date, plus you get to see if they're a nutter without wasting your time.
That last line sounds harsh but experience says it's necessary *Wipes away tears* :D

I ignore his txts, when he rings I either ignore it or tell him not to ring me anymore, we broke up 8 months ago for goodness sake!
It even grates me that he still calls me "love" when he sends me a txt, im not his love, nor have I been for a long time!

Um, change your number?

She looks very nice Posty, well done fella. Looks like a keeper, as long as she isn't as mad as a box of frogs of course. :)

Call up your provider and have his number blocked?

Tried that, o2 will only just change my number. If he was doing it more frequently then I would consider it, but like I said changing my number isnt really practical. Maybe I will put a male friend on the phone next time he rings and get him to pretend to be my new bloke. :D

forge a solicitors letter or something and send it to him saying you will proceed to take him to court for harassment?

knip - next time he contacts you just reply saying you don't want to hear from him again by any means and that if he doesn't leave you alone you will have no choice but to go to the police.

If he does then contact you - go to the police. Trust me I had to do it, it wasn't nice but some of the things my ex did were just way out of line.
