I guess you live in a city to limit your search area to 10 miles? I live out in the sticks, ten miles might get me into town. lol

Not a city as such just a small town but i am close to others so they easily fall in the 10 mile bracket!

the thing i considered was, if i was in a relationship with someone how far would i travel to see them and vice versa.

i used to date someone who was an hour away and they complained we were too far apart.
although the ex before that was half an hour away and he complained i was too far! lol

Its a bit of a catch 22 IMO.

Ive my past to relationships have been about a hours drive from where i live. If i was being honest, i did find it a bit annoying. However, that said i did also like it as it gave me my own space.

I think its only worth IF both parties put the effort in and also trust each other.

yeah i agree. i think the problem they had was it was too much effort for them!

but they were the wrong ones anyway

Depends.

There's talking about what you hated about exs and then there is raving about them. Latter being a god awful turn off and makes me want to say "If they were so good why are you not with them then?" :p

I'd certainly be wary, but I don't think its a 'no-no'. Depends how much and what about etc.

I'm still good friends with one of my ex's, and we still spend amounts of time together, but I no-longer refer to her as my 'ex' any more to prevent any un-ease that I'm talking about 'my ex'. (We've split abou 3 years ago now and had other BF's/GF's since.)
 
i said on a date that i dated a referee once and that because of that i didnt like football even more now but other than that i dont mention exes. even in a relationship i avoid talking about it

my last bf spent about an hour one evening on our first holiday listing all his exes, i dont know why and i even said "why are you telling me? i dont care" but he was drunk and babbled on. (we split soon after!)

I broke up with mine last year because she cheated on me(after 12 1/2 years) with some teenage gimp who likes BMX's (I ride the ones with engines on). Anyways at 37 I have no clue where to start, I used to be good with the chat, never fail out on the town ect ect. But now, my confidence is in the toilet, I NEED A SLAP!, I gotta get me a female, a nice looking, sweet, sarcastic, opinionated, challenge of a female.................:confused:

Seriously though, you gotta pick yourself up man, its hard im still trying to get all the way up myself, im getting there though, I just want to find the right girl now.

Generally you wouldnt want to see your ex again so why would you want to talk about them? Maybe if your desperate and lack confidence and since its a date you feel its natural to blag on about it but its pretty boring and would turn me off.
 
I am going on a date with a girl I met on POF tonight, but she seems way too pretty and nice to go on a date with me, do you think she has skeletons in her closet? I am kind of nervous as i have never done this Internet dating thing before.

Sounds like you just have low standards for yourself. Stop putting pretty people up on a pedastel, the girl probably just wants to meet someone nice and normal rather than have someone gawp at her.

Her pictures could also be misleading.

I ignore his txts, when he rings I either ignore it or tell him not to ring me anymore, we broke up 8 months ago for goodness sake!
It even grates me that he still calls me "love" when he sends me a txt, im not his love, nor have I been for a long time! :mad:
