Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Oooh, just got a message off an Irish lass on a different site who lives not far from me.

Asking if I want to meet for a drink next week....

Will have to see how this Friday goes with my lady friend first, but I am loving the attention :D
 
I met a girl off plenty about 3 months ago now, local too which is good.

Seeing her a couple of times a week at the moment, the only problem... she's a bit of a nympho :D :p

Sorry.. in my experiance if they don't look right in the picture then they *really* don't look right when you meet them, girls spend a lot of time choosing a photo that has them at there best.

I've done internet dating off and on since I split from my wife, it made sense to me as i don't have a large network of friends and needed to just meet some new people.

Been hit and miss, have met some really nice people, have some new friends, a couple of girl friends, have met some bunny boilers.

Things I've found. Free sites are just as good but you have to be very prepaired to search to find the good ones and not phased by apparent rejection. Match is rubbish !, only join the pay ones for a month max, change your profile and pictures regularly. Try and meet as soon as it seems safe, don't build up and "internet relationship". Don't flurt till you meet them ! You have to put effort into it, message lots of people and read there profiles to make your messages personal, even if its just there name or one little comment about there profile. Oh and we are just coming into a quiet time, summer holidays, September is a great time to join and look ;)

For me, i've just met a fantastic girl and although its early days it feels very good, so yea, it worked for me and if it doesn't work out I will do it again :cool:

Not always, the girl im seeing now had a horrible picture on pof, she look totally smashed in it, but i gave her the benefit of the doubt, we met up got on brilliantly and are now upto our 6th date so pretty much now at the beginning of a relationship. Her picture just didnt do her justice.

Shall see how things go over the weekend as we are off out friday night for a meal followed by wall-e at the cinema, she's staying over then we are off out saturday all day.

Im sure if we can put up with each for that long the future is looking good.
 
its tempting to get back into this.. but kinda agree with everything Richdog said about it.

(ive probably ranted on about women ive met via online on here before...so many bad experiences just puts you off it really)

You missed off hypocrite.

Strange how at the beginning of the thread you were salivating over that stunning Slovakian women, but now looks don't matter? You failed to mention anything about that women's personality too, bit shallow wasn't it hmm?

Que? Can you please point me to anywhere I said I wasn't a little shallow? I am... I admit it... therefore I am not a hypocrite. Hell, my latest POF profile even says so. :D
