I can really vouch for Match. Only hours after signing up I had two emails from girls interested in talking to me. I've now had 5 dates and it's coming up to a month of me being a member. One girl I've started seeing quite regularly now. If I actually put it more work, I could've doubled the dates I've been on, but quite frankly, I'm doing all right as is.

One girl I've started seeing quite regularly now. If I actually put it more work, I could've doubled the dates I've been on, but quite frankly, I'm doing all right as is.
Well I suppose you could say this is net dating related, but a few weeks back one of my friend tried to set me up with his sister in law.
We got talking on facebook, and from what I could tell she didn't seem too bad for someone who lives in quite a poor part of town. Anyway I knew she had one kid, and had lost a custody battle with her ex. I must admit thats when I started to have my doubts about her.
Anyway it wasn't till sometime after I stupidly agreed to meet her that I found out she had 5 spawns ! None of which lived with her, and were aged 16, 2 x 14 year olds, 13 and 7 ! I can imagine thats going to be like throwing a sausage up an alley !
I had the shock of my life when I tried to find the house she was living in with my friend and her sister as her ex had also thrown her out. Talk about an estate full of ******, I've never ever felt so out of place when I tried to find the place.
To make matters worse, the phone number I had for them had been cut off, I had locals look at me as if I was on the rob. In the end I thought to hell with it and drove off, didn't fancy having my car jacked up on some bricks because someone had taken a fancy to my alloys.
Then they had the cheek to message me and say did I want to arrange another meet. Ha it'll be a cold day in hell before that ever happens. Friends like that I can do without.

Exactly, I wasnt being difficult, but this really is one of the best threads ive seen on this forum in all the years ive been here... some hilarious stories and great advice.

Had my first date ever last night! Met a nice girl on POF and she was actually fitter in real life than in her pics! Got on really well, the mojitos helped the nerves initially but there were no awkward silences or uncomfortable moments. When we went our separate ways she sent me a message about 10 minutes later thanking me for a wonderful evening!

My Mrs used to use that site and she cancelled her payments ages ago, yet she still gets emails from the site saying that she has received nudges/winks whatever its called.
Sounds like they either send fake nudges or they leave your profile up there even if you cancel your account to make it look like there are more people on the site.
Don't want to appear too eager! I replied to her last message this morning so lets see what she says when she replies to that...
Ah man, perhaps some will disagree, in fact many will.
If you get on so well and she sends a text 10mins after you left, txt back.. there is no real dating rules.

Every situation is different, so don't feel like you have to play it cool all the time and take ages to reply to messages.

Oh don't get me wrong, I did respond. She mentioned about getting drunk on a monday night being bad, so I responded by saying "yeah, dinner first next time!" and she messaged back agreeing. But I didn't want to try to sort the next date out straight away.
Mini update....
Started seeing a lovely Turkish lady a few weeks ago. Not serious as she didn't want a full on relationship but enjoying a few dates etc. She couldn't see me over the weekend until late Sunday but I was free until then so we couldn't get together then. She decided I wasn't putting enough effort in and call it all off. I had to lol..
Went on a date with a local girl. High hopes as her emails were great. However in person she was completely different and very unattractive (personality) I endured an hour with her before making my excuses.
I think I'm going to take a step back until the end of April as I've been quite busy 'dating' recently and not spent enough time doing the things I should have.
