Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Ditto the above, internet dating is streets ahead of going out on a friday night or going down the pub, you read a profile, you find out about that person, you decide to meet them.... yes there players and wierdos but your always guarded and provided you meet safe and use your common sense it really works and puts you in touch with people you might never been fortunate enough to meet :cool:

Go for it, although i'd say Match was the worse site I ever tried ! Plenty of fish was good but i met my current girl on My single friend :)
 
well once i feel ready i might give them a go! i think the problem with my sis and bro in law is that they met when they were 18, and my other sis has only had 3 bfs, 3rd is now husband so my dad thinks thats how it should be for me. hes stuck in the 30's unfortunately.

Not strictly internet dating but I started talking to a girl on ICQ in the first few days of 2001.

Been together for 6 years now and our fifth wedding anniversary is coming up ;)

Im all for a bit of random comedy, but loads of the women on pof just seem to spout random crap, they think its funny to shout carrots in the street. because its "RANDOM"..

some right misfits kickin about!

Don’t kid yourself, it just means your investing more money into something you could use for just hitting the town, club or event to help you meet in the real world. So no, I don't feel I was kidding myself :D

There's one girl I met whom I am now friends with, even after having a sexual relationship. I found the free sites to be a waste of my time, whereas I would estimate that 75% (if not more) of the introductory messages I sent on Dating Direct received a response. I also never had anyone "flake out" although, it must be said, I never arranged a date until I had had a relatively lengthy conversation via the email system.

I consider the £20-odd I spent on my monthly membership fees to be well-spent. I had a lot of fun and, as said before, met a wonderful, beautiful woman who exceeds any expectations I may have had.

There was only one girl that frightened me a bit - after we swapped email addresses, she found me on Facebook, MSN, got my mobile number (heaven knows how - looking back I don't recall giving it to her, although one night when drunk it's possible :D) and started contacting me non-stop. It was a little....disconcerting :D
 
I like the sound of this POF, think I'll sign up, thing is it'll take me weeks to get anything near a decent'ish profile but hey you have to start somewhere.
I know once i've put my profile/pics up I'll be expecting a e mail within 24 hours but I need to get into the mindset that women have 1000's to choose from & could take some time, oh well here goes ...

A little shallow? :p Give it a miss if she's not up to spec, no point wasting time otherwise if you're going to obsess about her weight.

I've got a date with the brunette dancer girl on saturday... looking forward to it actually she seems lovely so far, looks and personality-wise. :)
