I went on a date almost 2 weeks ago with this great girl. She text and called me quite a lot up to the date. Then basically half way through the date she tells me she doesn't find me massively attractive and just wants to be friends as she doesn't think she'll like me more than that. I honestly wanted to leave at that point..

Weird thing is she was showing signs of flirting and we were talking for 2/3 hours none stop about anything. I was making her laugh a lot, she kept giving me compliments about how funny, interesting and sweet I was. So I thought it was going somewhere until she told me she doesn't fancy me..

But then she offered to go to Nando's and pay so I glady accepted even though I didn't want to be there anymore..who am I to deny free chicken? lol

But yeah definitely incredibly depressing, I thought this girl was different. She is a nice girl and everything but she hasn't contacted me since the date even though she was worried and told me not to delete her off FB and ignore her texts/calls..I was like I won't..but has she contacted me since? Nope..

Girls liking me comes rarely so I probably get my hopes up everytime I remotely come close to dating a girl. Then get dropped like a tonne of bricks then I go into depression mode.

Girls in my generation are for the most part..unstable or confused about what they want. They don't know what they want!!! They all want a perfect 10/10 guy who's tall, good looking and rich..

There are also only a few girls who are actually decent from what I've seen. The majority of girls are chavs, overweight, stupid, slutty, arrogant etc..

Try not to build up any expectations mate or you set yourself up for a fall. I see where you're coming from seeing as I'm a fugly bast and had my fair share of knockbacks but somehow I've managed to have a couple of really quite pretty girlfriends (met through RL) which confused my friends immensely.

Sadly I have no clue how I did it so have no way of repeating it. :p The odd thing is that I've been keen on a couple of girls who are not that great looking (tbh I'm not a shallow git, can't afford to be!) with many other great traits and got absolutely nowhere - so the conclusion for me is that high standards and expectations are a constant amongst the large majority of females. :)
 
Sorry if this seems judgemental ;) but your profile isn't good.

1) Your pic is terrible. Have that pic if you want but not as a sole main profile picture. Get a normal one up there.

2) What is the first line all about?

3) It's all a bit negative.

4) Most girls probably want a guy who is looking to date. At least they believe that anyway. :D

5) Give examples of the music you like. It means if a girl likes the same bands there is a bit of connection there.

6) Remove the bit about razors. :eek:

7) I don't think you need that detail about your parrots, just say you have two parrots you love, they are really funny etc.

8) Don't be so negative about pub/club. Maybe just say you are not really a regular pub/club type of guy and instead say what you prefer to do. Ideally something fun they will want to join you with.

That's my opinion on it anyway. More positivity, try and see it from a girls perspective. :)
 
Trouble is im more of a realist, i don't really think positive thoughts but duly noted, i'll see what i can change.

Good shout about razors, didn't really think about that one.

The fist line i totally forgot about, that was there as i just ripped a few paragraphs from some site, as it wouldn't let me register otherwise, and at that time i wasn't in the mood for writing a load of diatribe.

As for the picture, i'll do what i can, it's upload feature is a right pain.

just make sure you read their profile first before you write a message, try and acknowledge some of the stuff they have written and show interest in it / connection with your interests.

keep it to a paragraph, don't write more than 2 paragraphs at most, don't give them too much information just because they said HI back and showed some interest, you'll waste time and you'll have said everything there is to say before the conversation stagnates.

One woman was talking to me fine, then I corrected a spelling mistake and because I sent her 3 messages in a row she got freaked out and she blocked me - OOPS - wish I hadn't done that, I came on too strong or a bit OCD I think.

don't just say HI and nothing else its boring

don't come out with cliché's - ask random questions that catch them by suprise

don't use daft pictures, show one's that genuinely shows your fully body and face....

That was in there as a kinda joke. It's hard to find people into Metal on POF and OKCupid though. It's all chavs :/

Also the Download Facebook is the easiest thing to troll ever. ;)
 
Funny that I haven't really read this thread seeing as I work for a kinda new and very fast growing internet dating company.

Internet dating is becoming very common and acceptable. Quiet a surprising amount of guys I know are signed up to one.

You sent at least 4000 too many? It's up to you, but if you talk a lot about nothing in your messages, you might be falling into the friend/weird zone. Obviously depends on what you are sending.

Also might not be your end that is the problem but her, that and she likes boo..... :p
