It's quite obvious what he's saying isn't it? Saying that he's dismayed at how simple it seems to be if you're getting attention like that just from a pair of sunglasses.

I completely missed that point. but yes, it did work, and to be honest, im not complaining :p its all in the pics. you don't have to be the best looking guy in the world, but it does help :p
in all seriousness though, I changed my pics, left the words and I now get messages, so I would say that is what did it for me. not saying all women are soo fickle, but the ones in my area on POF seem to be.

although, I made the first mistake this evening of calling someone the wrong name :o
 
Well on here and elsewhere I've been getting some heat when asking for advice on my photo choice, which is kinda sparse collection to choose from. You've got two and are having to beating them away.

Just a little :mad: you have two photos and are doing alright and I've been searching through catalogues of family albums trying to find some pics to use. Do I need more? apparently... you say photos are everything, currently organising a day out with my sister and niece for...a-hem job application photos where I look like I'm not spazzing out. No way I'm getting the fellas to take some of me.
 
Hank I'd lose the squinty picture and I'm not sure if It's a great idea mentioning that you want to work abroad for a year and I can imagine that would put a few people off. Oh and buy some sunglasses.

photos are important, but too many is bad too. I figured a headshot and a full body shot is sufficient for them to get the idea, without giving it all away.
also, my comment about getting better pics, or meeting up helped, as a lot of messages contain stuff similar to 'you look a lot younger in your pics, do you want to swap numbers' :p

haha she was fine about it. I never lie about messaging other people, as we all know everyone is at it.
 
only redid my profile last night/today and things have started to pick up, had one epic message from this cute girl into mmos and all sorts of cool stuff and had a few 'hi you alright?' how do you respond to them. Some look alright in them as well.

Removed that. Cheers. Had it up and was told to remove it because there was too much background so cropped it, guess it doesn't work at all ;)

you reply with 'hi, im good thanks. how about you?' works for me, never try to go in too fast with too much info.

oh, and listen to the guys on here. if you go back to when I started internet dating I was a bit of a wimp and full of self loathing/pitty. a few good words from these guys and I can have great, witty chats with women (and on here) with confidence and show my sense of humour well.

E: except mischief, didn't listen to her, she is just mean to me :p

really. I have found after a few short replies they then open up and turn out to be good conversations. just don't go in eager or dig for more out of them. answer the question, repeat the question and then they make all the effort :p

You should be thankful that they're so upfront about being absolutely intolerable bores. Can you imagine them trying really hard to be interesting only to turn out to be totally dull down the line? Maybe I have a bit of a pessimistic look on it :p
 
Yeah my messages generally pick up on 2 points of their profile and do a short, hopefully witty sentence on each.

Just said 'fine you?' on a few of those 'hi' messages in my inbox, should be interesting to see what responses come back.

everyone is different online, just like in real life.

I find if you come in too keen on the quieter ones, they run off, so just let them have their few short messages and they tend to get better.
those that like to write full on essays from the off I put more effort into the replies.

and another date is scheduled for when I return from my hols :D this is just too easy :p
 
I used to have a rant about "hi how are you?" messages in my profile. Quite funny because I still used to get them. And it wasn't from girls trying to be funny. It was from mutants who hadn't bothered to read my profile.

I kinda miss perving on pof now I'm talking about it lol
