Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

I think the difference sits somewhere between casually liking Star Wars, and avidly watching Star Trek =)

I feel my new profile will rustle more jimmies than ever I have rustled before........ Nomsayin'?

Oh I've yet to even begin construction of such a masterpiece. Much like a piece of work by J J Abrams, I'm just building a necessary amount of hype.

My heart is racing. I've seen your pics. I totally would! :o

You know what, I've always wondered what sort of attention would be garnered if I used one of my pics from the Bodybuilders Pics thread. Women claim they aren't shallow, but lettuce be cereal.

They are.

So is it going to be like LOST where every is a bit disappointed and just has more questions than answers?

ALMOST, my dear brother. Except replace disappointment with that feeling of "wow, this man of mystery has really piqued my interest, and it would only serve to rustle my jimmies if I did not message him further", nomsayin'?

You should actually do that and see what happens. Not as profile pic but just one of the others and see what comes of it.

Haha. Only once there jimmies are un-rustled do they have your permission to message you?

Thats what I'm going to test over the next few weeks. My theory is it makes **** all difference what you put in the profile text. Hopefully it will answer once and for all, the questions asked here when people ask for opinions/criticism of their profiles and getting advice about what to write.

Just put:

I **** da bitchz!

As the profile text and a couple of pics of topless 6-pack men (ideally the same person, but try mixing it up too). :p

What's the difference? I always thought they were one and the same...

I was thinking along the lines of;

Create a true profile of myself with my pics, leave it a couple of weeks, see how many messages I get, then delete the profile.

Then, create another profile, with the exact same text, but put pictures of what society deems "good looking" and see how many messages it gets.

Then when anybody asks about their profile, I predict there will be one clear answer.....

If thats the "standard" used to define the terms then I'm none of them...... I'm not particularly Intelligent, my education stopped after college, I'm not obsessed by anything in particular, so that means I'm not a geek. If I'm to believe MoNkeE then I'm socialy inept, but that on its own doesn't even make me a dweeb or dork....hmmm

Well that's a pretty stupid test. Yes, more women will flock to a more attractive guy. It's making the most of what you have, and finding the most flattering pics you can, that is important.

When I flick through people's profiles, they have about 15 - 30 seconds (depending on how much text) to captivate me. The first thing you check are the pictures, are they hot or not? If so, proceed on to text. I then look for the parts that mention any of the following:
-Living for the weekend (as a negative)
-Getting smashed constantly (as a negative)
-Having geek-ish tendencies (not just in gaming like everyone here seems to think)
-Having a car
-Having a job
-Preferably being over 22

That's the first 15 seconds or so of looking at someone's profile before I even start to read what it actually says. And women will do the exact same to you. So yes, you need flattering pictures, you need interesting things on there, you need to make your IT job sound better than being 1st line support.....

I've just joined a site after my friend met a great guy on it, so I thought I'd give it a whirl as I'd never done it before. There have been a few guys just after one thing, who I've just ignored, but some guys seem pretty cool and I'm meeting one next week so fingers crossed :p
I also wasn't sure which picture to use so I found this cool black and white one that I had which shows me looking down. It doesn't give too much away but it also doesn't 'lie' and make me look totally different or anything.

Wills, I just did a test on a focus audience of attractive females from 18-30, using your leanest most anabolic lighting filled pic

I only had enough battery to record one of the reactions and for the sake of privacy I've recreated it using actors, here is said reactions:

Thats where we differ on our approach I'm afraid.

Toby pls. I'll photoshop myself a bit. Or maybe I'll give myself some lasagne abs........

Lettuce be real tea, of course women are shallow whether they admit it or not. But so are us guys because given a choice nothing but a 10/10 hard body who is into a but of tech stuff (just going off the typical interests from this forum) will do.

And according to that info graphic I'm a dweeb, bishes be mirin dweebs.
