I met my missus 10+ years ago. been togather for 8 years, married for 2 years and with a beautiful 18 months old girl = )

i'm pondering whether to give it a go or not. The thought of it is scary lol

although my exes were met online only one was from a dating site (love at lycos) but i thinking if I do give it a go I might try match.com because I think if people have to pay for it they might be a bit more serious. I could be completely wrong though

Get yerself on plentyoffish.com then i can come stalk you!

thats why I joined it as plenty of fish seemd like it was more for a quick one round the back of the bike shed, with some of the women that popped up!

but all the peoples that are suggested on match haven't been on in like a week and 3 weeks plus! so I think Im going to cancel and give the old fashioned way a try again

I was on match and got suckered into it for the same thoughts "Must be more serious if they are paying for it"

What a croc of **** that turned out to be.

Seriously, don't bother.

I'll agree Match is crap! Thought the same as nokinidea that if you're paying for it it must be good, but I barely spoke to anyone on it, and was a complete waste of money.
POF have spoken to a few, although most don't seem to contact me back(and I never get first contact made towards me either lol) But hey, it's free, so can't complain lol.

It may be natural but it certainly isn't advantageous!!
If you use the nerves the right way then it could be advantagous. I mean if you told the girl I'll be honest with you I'm pretty nervous right now so sorry if I seem a bit on edge. That could work in your favour in a couple of ways. One you're telling her how you feel (some women love this). Two it could act as an ice breaker (as she may be feeling a bit nervous as well). This might lead into a conversation where you chat about nervousnous in people in general or funny experiances on first dates etc etc. Three it could always backfire :P.

I totally agree most dont even bother Ive been "daily insighted" by a few on match just none my type so I didnt push it any further and after that date yesterday, Im thinking no lol, although I did sorta expect it to happen that way, Im generally not attracted to that sort of women just she seemed to match me in a few other ways thought Id give it a go :D

I met my boyfriend on Match.com, so can't say I have any complaints about them! Well, they are stupidly expensive but hey, he was worth it.

Met a guy once on PoF and turns out he was in the middle of a nervous breakdown - glad that one didn't work out!!!

Sounds like an interesting story behind this ;)
Afraid not just based on my observations that women or people in general seem to prefer different things. For example I heard one emo'ish girl say she was in love when a guy said he'd slit her wrists (or something similar) I'm not sure if he did but I know that he ****** her. I suspect if you said that to most girls the effect might not be quite so positive. I guess she was in love because she must've thought he understood her feelings.

Right after reading this thread I was inspired to give it a try, never tried such a site before...

Had some 'interesting' responses, didnt realise they let people in the loony bin on tinterwebz! However have been chatting to a genuinely nice girl who seems pretty keen, only potential issues are theres a bit of an age gap (im 23 shes 19) and also she lives a fair way away (im London shes Bristol)

What do we think chaps & chapesses? worth a crack?

Didn't sign up to a social site with the purpose of meeting anyone, only did it to ask around what people from Bristol thought of the city and the university etc. Got chatting to a girl who I've now been with for 3 years :D
