Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

There is absolutely no need for online dating unless you're just wanting to **** as many girls as you can.

I'm not a good looking guy, I don't work out, I'm a student (therefore zero cash) and I don't do too bad using real life :p.

I'll make one of you a deal though if you want. I bet that within 3 days with just your picture (I'll write the profile), that I'd get you 20-30 people sending you a message. (£10 bet)

(unless you're less good looking than me).

Deal? ^^

I like your confidence, it reminds me when I was a lowly undergraduate at uni going OMG DRUNK WOMEN WANT ME!

A few years on internet dating becomes a fine line between necessity and a really fun way to meet women without having to drink your own weight in wine and spirits on a night out to then haul your self to a lecture...

So yeah no chance of taking the bet because realistically online dating is a much more sensible way to meet women than say something really inappropriate in a seminar or a bar and maybe sleep with them once.

Plus a Dazed and confused quote tides me through it all "its all about quality not quantity man"

Saw a hottie on POF before Christmas. Out of my league so I didn't bother sending a message. Then I saw her in Revs and decided to chat her up. Nothing happened after that night and that was that.

Just found out who my best friend's new housemate is! It's going to be fun visiting him tomorrow haha. "Oh hey, nice to meet you! wait, do I know you from somewhere...?"

Umm some guy messaged me, I viewed his profile and decided not to reply. He then sent another message saying "not to sound like a **** but why does nobody ever answer me? :("

Do I continue to ignore, or should I reply and say "because I don't want to waste your time, sorry". What is less hurtful?

The more I read this thread, the more convinced I am that real life is better... This sounds like some sort of internet self-flagellation at times...

Tell him to MTFU and that he won't get anywhere in life with that sort of crap self pity. No time for that ****.

On a plus note, I messaged a girl with no profile pitcure the other day. Turns out she's a hot, Irish, blonde, teacher. Numbers swapped already, oooooft!

If the bloke is wallowing in self-pity then he's not cut out for internet dating tbh.

Kinda. Cupid also run speeddater.co.uk which I've been using for face to face dates for about a year (it's really good). However they have an online component where dozens of women message me every day, though I have to pay to read. I've been on there long enough to see the subject lines recycle, so it's definitely a scam.

Shame as the speed dating is very good and has lead to a few dates.
