There are a couple of proper stunners and some more very decent looking which seem like they're also decent folks. They all ignored me though, I can't imagine being 1 of 1000 messages helps. For the most part, I think the choice is a lot better when not using the Internet.

If you got a message from each of them and none of them are one off pictures, I will probably be forced to accept defeat though. Also I might get overruled but I really have a thing against boyish short hair. :P

Definitely don't do it. Such sites cheapen you as a person. I'm doing this to win a bet, and even I feel contaminated.

Put your effort into other areas imho, I think you'll find someone far more worthwhile.

And lets face it: 1 decent girl you'd want to spend your life with > ****ing 50 supermodels and ending up forever alone or with dregs.

I don't think theres anything inherently wrong with the sites. In essence they're just a way to find someone similar enough in your area that you can stand to look at. Any of the actual dating is done in person, so it's no big deal.

The problems the way they're used and abused. I was never really confident it'd work anyways, but I thought I'd give it a go and I've been fairly genuine. Now theres been several girls that I've liked, messaged, been ignored and then their profile disappears but comes back up a bit later with added text. Here is one I spotted just now:-

"I have come on this after meeting someone on here and being stung. I am looking for someone who takes this seriously with no time wasting :)"

To me, that reads as what I've been saying time and time again in this thread. I can't compete with liars using honesty, so this site will never work for me.

Now I can fully understand if girls don't fancy me and I'm not trying to say I'm a prize here, but I'm not deformed, have a proper job, own a house and at sub 30 I think I'm doing pretty well for myself. I'm easy going, don't get angry, have a decent sense of humour too. I totally wouldn't mind finding someone to settle down with.

Surely if I'm here, theres the equivalent girls on there too. I fully suspect they exist, I just totally think the signal to noise ratio is completely ****** by guys wanting to trick girls into sleeping with them and girls wanting to boost their ego. It's a shame though, but I'm not actually desperate and I'm probably going to kill all my accounts after our game. I'd like to believe theres something I can do about this but sadly your limited success hasn't been enough to convince me it's worth continuing. :p

P.S. I'm well aware I could try lying too, but how the hell is that going to help you find something genuine? Heh.

Truth be told, I've seen you post all round the forums. We don't agree on most things in the slightest (you'd be insane if you did :p), but you come across very articulately. You're very presentable, you've got a career etc etc.

I'd say that such sites really are not for you. Unless you're a complete **** in real life, then you're bound to meet someone. :)

This site is full of weird people, and whilst I think there are few genuine people, I think you've more chance of being saddled with a right old nag.

Most girls start to lose the upper hand at your age, so you can be picky. ^_^


edit: strong no homo, but you're actually good looking, you've got a good head of hair, pleasant smile etc. Maybe work on on your body a bit more as you said you were slightly overweight (not that I care at all myself). Also you mentioned height a few times in a way that suggested it was a limiting factor. It's like the size of your wang. The people who it REALLY matters to you wouldn't want to know anyway. :)
