Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Well I have given POF a try over the last few weeks and I got to be honest I have been quite disappointed. I seem to have messaged the women that are there to just have a ego boost. Have had a few girls say lets meet up, but then I try a few times to make a date and they are like, ive had a better offer so I am not interested :(

Im really getting to get depressed now as I am not a fan of night clubbing so I probably I will never find a girl to date and have some fun with, as I am now hitting the ripe old age of 36 this year

I don't think the decent girls your age hang about night clubs. Not that it's fair to tar everyone with the same brush but there I go. :P

So basically you want to find a sloot to have fun with but can't handle tthat the attractive ones on pof have an ego and you don't want to go clubbing.

Logic. Not even once.

I`m both negative and positive.

i have met the fake profiles, they were really different from what they said online.

However, i also met a real one - and we`re married now.
Since i`m a sysadmin, internet dating for me is as normal as going to a bar.

And how tall are you when not in ridiculous heels? :D

I'm 6' my gf is 5'3 aka perfect chin rest height. I think much bigger difference would be awkward though.
5'8 without, 6' with heels :D

Meant to be going on my 4th date today with a guy I met 2 weeks ago. I have a cold though and can't stop coughing.. Not sure if I should cancel or not. I want to meet him but I'm sure he doesn't want me coughing and spluttering all over him :/

Also have a 2nd date tomorrow with the tall guy I met last week. Again, may have to cancel because of this stupid cold. Arghhhh

Haven't posted here for a while, but just a few musings. So I did go and see that 'teenager' girl for a date (for those who don't know the story, she's 19. So relax) but it fizzled out without us making it horizontal. I made sure it fizzled out. Met her 3 times, shared a kiss, a cab to mine where we both fell asleep (passed out) without so much as removing our shoes. I won't date below 25 again. Done it now for the sake of doing it and glad I done it. There's no difference physically apart from a few less lines on their faces but mentally it's completely different. Different stages of our lives and I have no desire to be 19 again nor would I want to watch a 19 year old try and act and understand the world of a 30+ year old guy. I'm sure there's more mature ones but I leave them for the other guys.

So onto the next girl. She's 30 and Canadian. Another freaking lawyer. I'm just waiting to get my arse sued one of these days for dumping them out of the blue. But no plans to break it off just yet. However, this one is doing something I've never experienced before, namely paying for just about everything and insisting to pay for everything. I'm thinking this is because we both mentioned salaries and she's over 140k a year with bonuses and I'm not even earning half of that :p So she's taken it upon herself to imagine that I must be broke for earning 'pittance' like that in London and pay for her toy boy on every occasion :p. She 'lets' me pay for lattes and cheap things, but when it comes to restaurant bills running into the 200's, she nearly wrestles the bill from my hands or insist the waiter don't take my card. She cooked for me last night and I mentioned a play I wanted to see and asked her if she wanted to come too and that I'll book the tickets tomorrow (today). She disappeared into her study and while putting me in charge of the cooking (*gulp*) and came out with the tickets booked. Reserved seats too.

I can mention quite a few of these situations, and I suppose it's totally cool and women (clearly) earn decent money too and there's no reason men should be coughing up for everything, but this broad treats me like a broke ass bum. I guess she's not too far wrong in her theory but I can pay my own way dammit :p

I'm going to have to get firm here and invite her out somewhere where it's my treat and if I so much as see her reach for her handbag, I'm going to slip a fist where the sun don't shine next time we're in bed!

Shall we play the 'red flag' game? It's fun and exciting!

Sorry mate but that's as much your fault as it is hers, and form the sounds of it you've already allowed it to go too far by accepting it the first time and then however many times that followed. If you don't want that kind of patronizing, demasculating treatment then simply don't go out for ridiculous £200+ meals. Personally I find that it unforgivably rude (especially telling the waiter not to take your card, that's just horrifically embarassing), and it would be a deal-breaker for me regardless of hotness.

I guess. For the record I'm happy going to Subway or Pizza Express, but she's a foodie and vino lover so it's really the wine that's chasing up the bill, not the food. However, I don't see a future if she insists on living the high life. That's not me. Even when I was earning FAR more as a contractor then I am now, I still resented wasting money or overspending on things.

But I suppose this is just her way. If I was pulling in that much money I wouldn't have any qualms either paying for most things but I'd be more smart about it.

I'll have a little chat with her tomorrow.

No need for black and white, just go to regular restaurants and run up regular bills... doesn't have to be extreme or low budget... just sounds like she's really lost some perspective (or modesty) due to the money she earns (and I work for a finance company with partners who earn many times that who still don't flash it like that). The fact she can't see how her behaviour could affect someone else would really worry me, and I wouldn't be surprised if she takes offence when you talk to her about it simply because it's never crossed her mind before.

Good luck and let me know how it goes, I'll be interested to hear it.

I'm off out in an hour or so for coffee with someone I've been chatting to. Shes a few years older than me but shes got similar interests and looks after herself so hopefully it goes well! :)

Lol well I didn't have to cancel today's date anyway. He text me to say can we reschedule for tomorrow as he doesn't feel well (hungover) I have zero sympathy for people who get absolutely **** faced and then have to cancel on people the next day to recover from their hangover.

Well sorry love, I'm busy for the rest of this weekend, as well as next weekend and the weekend after next

What a dummy, if he had any sense he would have said he had a cold or something.
