I've been getting quite a few meet me requests from some nice girls..........you send them a message and then nothing....

Not writing anything completely mental in the messages so it's a bit weird! Anyone else noticed this?

Only a handful use this feature as intended, the rest all use it in the same manner as the Facebook like button, just scrolling through hitting like at anything that takes their fancy at that fleeting moment.

After a quiet period I now have some interest from a girl with literally the most divine rear I have ever seen in my life, it is nigh-on mouth watering. Amusingly, my mate is also trying to crack on to her and has a date with her this evening, but as we deem this a service to mankind and neither of us are looking for a wife, we have made a clearly defined gentlemens agreement that the best man wins with no hard feelings. :D

well after being ditched whilst in Afghanistan, ive just signed back up to POF, didnt have much luck last time as I seem to just attract mental birds so hopefully this time will be better :)

On another note when it comes to first dates im the most nervous person in existence, i.e with my ex even though we had been mates for years the first time we met up as a prospective couple I was almost sick through nervousness, does anyone have any tips for this?? After a few hours im usually fine but it gives off the wrong impression :(

Tips for being sick with nerves? Not sure other than just to see the other person as a normal human being (regardless of how attractive you find them), and stop constantly questioning what they are thinking about you. Be cool and relaxed, like you were talking to a friend, and DON'T try and be funny for the sake of it unless you are good, as that often leads to awkward moments when you are feeling nervous, as your judgement generally isn't sound. Keep conversation natural and flowing, whatever you do don't let it trail off, and if it helps have a good think beforehand of the stuff you want to talk to her about, and also the stuff that you can tell her (your strenghts, interests and hobbies etc) which puts you in a good light.

I also think it would also help you to have a phone call or two in the run up to meeting her, then you have already had some connection on some level, and the pressure of meeting her for the first time will lessen due to the basic familiarity you have already established.

I were you I would Google and read https://www.google.ch/search?q=tips...:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=fflb

There might be a couple of reasons for this. They like your profile pic but then when you email and they look at your full profile they change their mind.

BUT........

I think MAYBE is also treated as a YES so they might have just been clicking through or something not realising that.

Yeah I understand people just "flicking" for want of a better term and hitting yes/maybe..........but then if they've viewed your profile a few times too?

Meh just seems a bit odd!

I'm laying off the dating for a bit. After dating a lot you just don't take it serious any more as there's always someone new around the corner. I didn't value any date. I ended up wasting my own and the girl's time. There's a few little things I want to fix in my own personal life before I'm going to get serious with anyone.

Looking forward reading about everyone's success stories!

I've been dating this girl for a couple of weeks now, and everything is going well. However, she is much more wealthy than me (rich Chinese parents), which can make dates quite expensive. Shes more than happy to pay her share or more, but it doesn't feel right letting her pay for so much... E.g. Last night I paid 25%, she paid 75%

Thoughts?

I've had that a few weeks ago. Then I got canned. Guess she had no interest in a (comparatively) broke ass Ni ... eh ... white boy.

It is what it is mate. You could try and talk to her. Or take the lead and suggest cheaper dates.

dont complicate it too much.. if she wants to have expensive dates then she is clearly prepared to pay :) if you can't afford it she knows that and thats that.. really i know it feels wrong because you're a guy but lets be honest.. in this day and age its kinda normal for a woman to earn/have more than a guy.. 30-40 years ago it was a different story ofc :)

Next time, you choose the location - make it something that's fun but not expensive

Cheers people, useful points of view.

Next date should be much cheaper, but looks like I'll have to get my creative hat on for the future.

Physical activites are fun, bedroom obv but non bedroom stuff is also good! going for walks, rock climbing visiting the zoo and old manor houses. doesnt have to be expensive to be enjoyable.

I recently went to Batmans house (Wollaton Hall) its in Nottingham which is about an hour drive from Coventry. Its free entry and you can walk around and look inside the house, there are tours which you pay for but they are less than a tenner, I think about £5 or less.

Are you meaning POF? You don't know if someone views your profile more than once.

Thought: if you let a girl pay for more than 50% of a meal, then you have already weakened your position, and silently admitted that you cannot provide for yourself when going out for a meal like you did. That really isn't good.

To avoid that situation EVER happening (too late with this girl, sorry, but if you're lucky you may get away with it) make sure you go a to a venue you can afford. I'm quite surprised you need to be told that in the first place, because it's a position no man should really ever find himself in.

I think you pay too much creedence to the games mate. Sure, some females will feel that way. Some men feel such a thing is an affront to their masculinity. Some people just don't give a **** though.

No offense intended, but I wouldn't pay too much mind to peoples opinions. Everyones an indivdual and the lions share of people participating in this thread aren't actually having as much success as they obviously desire.

If it doesn't seem to bother her, it doesn't need to bother you. Do what you think is right and if it doesn't work out, it was doomed anyway.

P.S. If all woman are as thickle as you seem to believe they are, Richdog, then I'm pretty much willing to settle into a life of solitude. I can only hope you're wrong. :)

I'm female and disagree. I'm quite happy to pay for a date and I wouldn't say that weakens the position of the man at all

After reading a few posts in this thread it seems a lot of men get far too caught up in games/think far too much about things. Have you ever thought of just going with the flow and being yourselves? Just relax and have fun? It's the only way you'll find someone worth keeping.

(And believe it or not, not all of us women are completely mental :D )
