Not glamorous model photos, just regular portrait shots with an SLR. There's a famous blog post on okcupid about it. Really fascinating. I couldn't believe the difference in response I got, personally.

Reading some of these pages is real LoL worthy. Never thought I'd see the day something like this let alone 587 pages of it. Sometimes some sections I have to still check I'm on the OcUK forums. Thats the scary bit.

It's becoming the norm, so you're going to have to get used to it. Just see the dating shows popping up on TV or speed dating and normal dating online sites. My mum and dad met through pan pal dating, many many years ago, which was a very old form of what we have now. Sure I might meet someone away from dating sites, but might as well spread out a bit and increase that chance. What's the harm

My mate messaged a girl from pof without a photo who described herself as very attractive and even rated herself as 9/10. They'd been chatting back and forth a few times before he asked for her pictures. I can assure you he never did get back in touch after seeing what she looked like. Problem now is she has his mobile number and she is txt'ing all the time.
