Now, what is this "spark" thing that I frequently see mentioned ?

Physical attraction ? They say something witty ? They break out the toys ?

Maybe i'm shallow, but I know in the first 5 seconds of a first date if I fancy them or not.

I don't get this "spark" thing either. It takes 3 to 6 months before I decided I actually like some one. I cant like simply like some one straight away, its good them being nice at first but their true personality can show after a few months which can be a complete turn off.

The "spark" not being there is a nice way of telling some one they're an ugly bugger and they don't fancy them.....

Personally, I kind of feel that the people who rely on this initial "spark" to decide if someone is right for them or not are a tad shallow.

Ok so went on my 2nd date since signing up to POF a week friday.

Turn up at bar 19:30, she turns up, get on really well for 4 hours.

I wasn't drinking, she was, she says she will text me and that she wants to see me again at end of night.

I text her next day, really slow response, but says she had a great time. No reply today.

Really gets on my goat.

I think im done with internet dating after 2 dates, its ** No disguised swearing ** depressing, and even worse when you feel stringed along.

I think I know what Jambo means but it's hard to explain, I don't think it's just a sexual/lust thing. I've had plenty of dates where we've got on great, they are very attractive but it's more like a best friend vibe you get.

Sure I could probably have a relationship with them and it'd work out great but I want that element of excitement and spontaneity.

Give it some time. Don't expect too much too quickly, besides she might be genuinely busy. I'm a **** for replying to text's so she could be as useless as me.

Play the field a bit, have a few on the go and whittle it down gradually.

It might be an excuse to tell someone they don't fancy them but it's not necessarily what it is.

The spark is simply the chemistry/connection/rapport you have with someone. When you just 'bounce off' each other AND are physically attracted to them. I agree it can develop over time but dating doesn't really work that way.
