Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Take heart mate! I find most of my messages are deleted without even being read. If I do get a response (and my messages are well thought out and interesting!) I'll be lucky to get a proper sentence, and on exceptionally rare circumstance will the concept of grammar be exercised!!

Out of the many messages I've sent, I've had one date. She was nice, we had a fun night but just no chemistry so won't be seeing each other again. I'm in London, young, successful, consider myself pretty attractive, blah blah blah but still not getting anywhere near the rewards for the effort I put in.

I think unless you are lucky enough to be some sort of brad pitt look alike, you won't get a sniff out of any attractive girls on there, it's that shallow. To be expected I suppose, they probably get a million messages a day!

To be honest I've found it far harder to get interest online than at bars/clubs, and I'm quickly become tired of authoring decent messages and getting smeg all in response... harpies the lot of them!! ;)

The thing is my messages are being read, i've never had any problems using the traditional methods which is why this is so frustrating. I think people are exceptionally picky when using online dating, picking up on 1 negative thing then ignoring the rest when you could usually talk them round / make them like you if they were in front of you. Either that or the fact i have 3 kids is the major stumbling block.
 
Do the 3 kids stay with their mom partially at all. Surely its ok to mention after or on the first date but people will perceive that as slightly more then single I'd say
 
They stay at mine every other weekend, which is what i've put on my profile. It's a pretty big thing to not mention and as i'm far too honest for my own good i can't not say about them.

Good for you mate... You know that starting anything off on a base of deception is not going to end well.

I agree with the comments about people being FAR more fussy online than real life. My last 2 girlfriends have not really shared my main interests at all, but I found that having different hobbies actually worked out quite well and gave us things to talk about. If I were to use an online thingy I'd probably be *really* specific and probably get nowhere.
 
Having different hobbies also means you both get time away from each other which, IMO is equally as important. When I was registered I only sent mails to girls that had different hobbies.

How is PoF these days? When I was on some of the women were hot but the percentage was low. If its upped a bit I may re-join. I had some fun. (One of my stories is on here)

If I were you I wouldn't mention the kids. If you get into good correspondence with a woman then you can mention it then, no harm no fowl. However, if it's on your profile it's only going to limit your potential replies.
 
By the way, has anyone actually received a decent, coherent message from a random girl? I mean an initial message, not a reply to your action? I get contacts but they're usually just like "fatmunter53 would like to meet you!" or if I get an actual message something like "hows ur day goin?". Feel like saying "$£%? OFF IDIOT GIRL!!!", I've come to the conclusion that 99% of women who go online to date are either liars, superficial ******** or intellectually braindead (which wouldn't be that bad if they were easy, but noooo!!). :D

I'm not sure that's a great idea? Altho as you say its not like your the sole parent or have your kids permenantly at your house.

You shouldnt have to hide them tho! But I know that if I was speaking to a women who told me she had 3 kids I would be initially put off...

Yep. Currently seeing a Swedish hottie that emailed me. Said she liked the effort I put into my profile and that the pics weren't too bad either. I mailed back with a self-depreciating quip and 5 days later she was bringing me coffee in bed.

Doesn't happen often though. Ever really :(

Very! I'm almost in total disbelieve how nice she is. I still keep an eye open at night, looking for the knife that wants to remove my kidneys but she beams with Scandinavian purity and honesty. I think I've found the holy grail when it comes to women.
 
I had a random girl message me yesterday, and she hasnt stopped talking to me since, she gave me her mobile number about 3 times in this time lol. I havnt text her so she doesnt have my number.

Every time she says she is going offline, I get another message to say "heres my mobile number" (again)! lol

I'm not sure if she is a mental maniac or is genuinely interested.... any tips? But I am getting signals that she may be a bit mad! She seems wayyyy too talkative too, like she will go on and on and on like im her best friend or something...is she needy/desperate?
 
Deleted my PoF profile month a go or so after 5 number closes but no dates. Went on a volunteer holiday last week and met a pretty awesome girl, we spent loads of time together during the week and will have some unforgettable memories, felt as though we'd known each other for ages. In that time on PoF I would have probably sent a dozen texts and tried to set up a date to no avail!

So, Real Life-1 PoF-0.

I sacked off my POF account as I didn't get anywhere. Currently on Match.com but sadly the girls I've messaged have ignored me, and ones who've messaged me are swamp-donkeys! Gonna give it til the next payment is due then try my luck in the real world I think...
