Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

So... I went on a date today, thought it went ok but could've been better. There were moments of silence and long pauses.. Don't know if that's because we hadn't talked much prior to meeting up, as I would normally message/text someone and get to know them a bit more before meeting up. This guy ticked all the boxes + more and I quite like him :o

We only met up for about an hour and a half because I had to leave to go somewhere, so can't really tell if he's interested or not. I don't really know what to do now.. I want to message him and ask if he would like to meet up for the 2nd time but that's sooo not my style..

Hmmm.. Message him or not... Or message him tomorrow... What to do, what to do... :/

One easy question... did you both have chemistry? I think you have to be honest, if it wasn't there, even a spark between you then I'd say move on. I think the worst thing you can do (and I've done this) is try to pretend something is there when it really isn't, and if you're honest it will save you a lot of pain in future!

I would also had that if you found you couldn't talk for even an hour and a half without running out of things to say then if I was the guy I wouldn't go back. Usually dates I've been on last for 4+ hours and most of the time the conversation flows pretty easily. If it doesn't then definitely alarm bells go off. So I'd say just be honest with yourself, but definitely see if he contacts you again and take it from there.

Well.. I was kinda asking most of the questions and did more talking than him. He seemed like a pretty shy/quiet guy.

But anyway I guess I'll just leave it.. If he's interested then I'm sure he will send me a message.

Although, personally, I don't really like dating anymore, it feels too scripted (ie you follow the same generic path from A to Z. I prefer just making friends, it's easier when you tell them your into Dr Who, Star Trek/Wars etc

It isn't easy, and requires hard work to find the right person; but it's worth it in the end.

Oh dear lord :/ how does she know she was a Viking and a butterfly in a previous life?

Wait, you mean you don't know what you were in a previous life?

If he was quiet, he might be a bit insecure. If you liked him and the insecurity isn't a problem, can't hurt to message him tomorrow.
He might well come out of his shell after a second date...

Agree, but I get the impression from MisChief that she would prefer a guy to take the initiative, not have herself text a guy.

She is hard work :D:p

They're all hard work!! :(

Anyone want a giggle (I mean constructive viewing) at my shiny new profile??

No laughing!

Put more effort into interests rather than saying "music" and "generic/standard answers". People don't care if it's standard, they want to know about YOU. Saying "tend to work a lot" may give mixed messages.

About me was fine, I would say "I'm fun and outgoing" rather than "I think.." especially after saying "I'm confident".

You seem like you don't give yourself enough credit, profile is typically fine and you look like a decent guy.

Perhaps you should think about it as if you are writing a profile where you have to rate/praise yourself, where the only person able to view it is yourself.

Well I've just messaged about 20 people on PoF, Think I'm done with okcupid as their doesn't really seem to be anyone on there I like after the first date.

Hope I get atleast one reply tommorow or I'm going to feel mega depressed :(

No :( although someone once said I might have been an octopus because I'm good at multitasking. My mum swears I'm my Nan reincarnated though.

20 ain't bad at all. Went through 40 pages of whales, squids and wannabe mermaids and messaged about 6. No doubt some will respond but it'll just fade out after a few messages back and forth.

Oh well, back to what the internet was invented for, porn and funny cat pictures.

Aye, I had one message back off someone who I found really good looking, but then I read the location and it was miles away from me, Why can't I have a car, if I had a car life would be a lot simpler, I'd have no money but I'd have good times!

Shall I buy a hat?! :D

Depends what type of hat, I can never fault trapper hats, they can make anyone look cool regardless who's wearing them.
