I had a similar situation with a guy a couple of years ago. Friends kept saying "oh he's probably just busy etc, send him a text" i'd send one and occasionally get replies implying he was still interested to go on another date but then nothing would be finalised. Turned out he had another girl on the scene.

Ironically we are friends now (he knows I'm not interested in him anymore) but it took a while to get to that point.

As for the picnic take me :D I love picnic's. Wait...you do have cocktail sausages right? Can't have a picnic without them :p

hmm so one guy from last night has sent me his number just in case I fancy contacting him on that sometime. Another guy would like to call me tonight :eek: Not ready for that lol. Well actually I'm so tired from being on pof messaging for nearly 5 hours last night that I'm desperate to have a bit of quiet tonight, watch tv and fall asleep early like an old woman :p

A couple of others have messaged, I have no interest in them but I feel bad just replying with thanks but no thanks when they've put quite a bit of effor into the message so i'm trying to let the conversation fizzle a bit.
 
You do need to chill a bit Neil, just calm things down. Every one gets disappointment but try not to build up your hopes too much. I used to be very similar to you in that I'd wear my heart on my sleeve. However after numerous and length disappointments, I'd learnt the hard way to be a little bit more thick skinned.

Keep your chin up and keep plodding on. If you're getting this stressed though, maybe it's best you give the whole internet dating a break for a couple of weeks? Might refresh you some.

As for you secretspy, the profile is lovely. It is weird that you haven't seen the star wars films though! I'd agree with the other posters stating that the black and white picture is the best out of the lot. I also thought with the head scarf, that you look like a pirate! Hahaha.

Was half tempted to stick up a profile to message you my self! ;)

Just take it easy, if you're not ready for a phone call etc, then just tell them that. Any guy who's really genuinely interested would understand that.

be careful of taking numbers and offering yours out if you're worried. Perhaps try an IM program first and chat more, to try and get a proper feel of the person so to speak?

Thanks :) Ah yes forgot to change the pictures around. Maybe I should also include a comment on the bandanna one so people know I was dressed as a pirate on purpose lol.

As for phone numbers it's not that I don't feel comfortable with it as such I just don't fancy a phone call this evening because I'm so tired and want some me time :p (and watch last night's CSI :o)

Definitely do it; Although the Pirate piccy isn't a bad picture, far from it. I don't think it's really profile picture material. It's one of those which makes you look up for a laugh, a giggle etc, but I think as a profile picture you have better options.

Mind you, when I was on POF, I used a picture of me doing an impression of an Orangutan outside the Chester Zoo orangutan enclosure :D

Haha, I actually had more messages with that profile pic, than with 'proper' pic! Not sure how that works :D

Hey secretspy you commented on my pictures and someone actually did the same the other week. Thing is i might be 31 but i look about 26, the white tshirt shot was last summer the black tshirt this year and the coat one was about two years ago. As you can see not a lot of difference :p

Would you recommend i remove any of them? from a female perspective
 
OMG, I think i just stumbled across the profile of a girl that I talk to when I go to Starbucks! I am only 80% certain though since the photo looks like a scanned photo hence it lost a lot of detail, but i am 80-90% sure.

Decided to delete the one with my coat on and just stick with those two for now, the photo's are not far off the way i am now. I've just got a bit more hair on my head, suits me though :D

Erm...think I'll leave out the marker pen moustache lol. Thanks for the feedback though :) It took me ages to decide what to write and even after reading it about 50 times I still worried it sounded naff.
