Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

I seriously don't know whats happening with me at the moment..

I've been talking to someone on PoF for about a week now, really long detailed conversations, I'm getting the "Hope I'm not boring you..." to which I reply Of course not etc.

even though I told her my pet hate is being ignored I'd rather know something straight out, I thought I'd just not reply to one as I can't really read the situation, yet I get a message the next day with a load of questions and a load of kisses.

Could just be my lack of experience talking to girls/being bad at flirting.

Only Normal person I've actually talked too on PoF, I guess could just take it as friends and see what happens.

I agree with this as well. You have told him how it is, so don't give him anything to latch on to.
 
I tell you what, women do make me laugh. Deep, good-natured laughs from the bottom of my belly.

Been seeing a stunner I met on Match for a few months now, she is (?) head over in love with me. Calls me twice a day, text about 10 times, she was on holiday with her parents a while back and she almost doubled contact during that time. She was working abroad for a while and surprised me with a plane ticket to come see her, etc. Basically, she was perfect. While she was declaring her undying love for me, I always used to take it in a light-hearted manner as I'll never said 'I love you' to anyone unless I meant it, I was affectionate towards her, but never overbearing as I was protecting my own heart. Anyway, she didn't let up and kept up her charms. Jokingly picked names for our kids already, picked an area for us to live in, you know, the usual.

Anyway, I started liking her, like, a lot, and finally realised that I could actually see myself ending up with her and told her so with a smile.

Boom, everything went wrong. Her contact to me was almost chopped in half and she's noticeably cooler. I didn't really mention it to her and just proceeded to be normal. Well, I may have asked ONCE if everything was ok and she just said 'fine'. You know, the way women do when something is clearly wrong.

Anyway, I rung her two days ago to chat but she never picked up the phone. Text her last night and she never got back to me. Ball is in her court now. If no explanation or contact by next week, it's back to trolling for new tail. :p
 
First thing I thought was John Major (90's) when I saw those glasses.

In 6 months or so they will probably be cool, he is just ahead of the curve man.

Heh dont think im cut out for this dating lark anymore, been on 3 dates so far, first one went badly as she looked nothing like the pictures and never said a word, 2nd she didnt turn up at all, despite texting me saying she was 10mins away, waited an extra 40 mins, so she probably sat somewhere laughing her arse off, and the 3rd just didnt work, thought we had something in common and could talk about but in person it didnt work, was odd.

Lots of people supposedly want to meet me according to PoF, but im yet to hear anything back from any of them. Maybe its me i dunno..anyway rant over :)
 
Signed myself up to POF, about a month ago after a 2 month gap, to make myself feel better. I was doing ok out normally, but was not going to say no to a bit more self esteem and even a few dates a week to fill up the time I have free.
I have received probably about 2 or more messages a day, (possibly because I have the android app, so my face probably appears on the online section more) and been on 3 dates so far. It's mental, I really don't know what to say.
I met a lovely girl, who I get along with great but am having a "chandler" moment about a single feature (i know really vain) been on 2 dates with her, going well.
Tonight though I just went on a date with a very pretty girl, possibly the most boring night of my life. I can talk the hind legs off a donkey, and know a good few ways to escalate and make an evening fun, however this girl was just so dull. We talked a lot but there was 0% spark. Even kiss her a few times to see if it would work but all I could think about was ending the night sooner.

Moral of my POF story so far, is that its not always the best looking ones that are the best fun, and that you can tell whether you will click within 10minutes of meeting a girl, possibly 5.
Ahh well, there will be many many more attempts, hopefully she was an exception, at least the other 1 is still on the cards.

You get 2 messages a day? Good god! I haven't even received a single message from a girl on there and I've signed up for 2 months now, I've only had 1 reply from a girl who I've sent a message too, what's your secret? :confused:

Well I guess that depends how good looking you are :p

I used to think this 'meet me' thing was annoying, but it actually works now. Most of he guys I clicked 'yes' to have actually viewed my profile and sent me a message. Can't say the same applies to women though, as I ignore all of my 'meet me' notifications :o
 
Because most of the people who click 'yes' are not my type, so I've kinda given up viewing the profiles because it's a waste of time - if they really are interested then they will send a message as well
