Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

There's a guy at work who met his lady friend on an internet dating site. We've still not let him forget it :p

(Though I don't have an issue with it, I met my wife online... just not on a dating site!)
 
Well I have put up a new picture with me wearing new glasses and moved some bits about. Already had a message and meet me thingy and a few views.

Not really anyone interesting, but it really is all in the pictures.
 
I was just looking through about 6 months work of facebook photo's.... I do not have any without either a beer/alcoholic beverage in my hand or a cig. Great lol... I think that it is because I am only happy having my picture taken when drunk! :p

Sending a few messages now. Let's see what happens... The amount of "Bi" women on OKCupid is stupid :eek:

I wonder if these are properly Bi or Bi-Curious or "I kissed a girl once and..." type affair. I don't think I will be going around asking that though :P
 
It sounds uber-gay but get a mate (female preferably) to take some pics. You don't have to pose for them as such, maybe next time you're out just put down the beer & fag and hand your phone to someone.

As above, it really is all about the pics on these sites.
 
Lol Tican than is so true with OKcupid. Heaps of Bi sexual people on there.

Pictures taken when you are out can be really unflattering as well with the harsh flashes in low light situations. Maybe you can just take a nice one of yourself sitting by the desk or something until you do do as chris suggested?
 
I think I need to update my photos as well, going to ask a photographer friend to take some of me. I've only had one 'Meet me' thing, and I've been a member for nearly a month.

Also the bisexual thing, so many girls put that, but meh it's up to them. It increases your chances of a potential threesome in the future, I guess...

I went out for a mates gf's 21st, and whilst being rather drunk I sat down at a table with 2 well spoken girls on and started chatting to them (have been dated one ever since - over 5 years).

My honest opinion based on my basic knowledge of the vast female psyche. :)

Hi my names Dave I'm 24 and live in Poole, Dorset. I work as a roofer/brick layer brick layer(multi skilled). It's hard work, but good excercise at the same time.

I have a beautiful baby boy from my previous relationship who is just coming up to 1 year old.
Might put off a fair amount of women, may not, you'll have better chances with women who also have kids.

In my spare time i like to hang out with the lads and enjoy a few beers now and again and I must admit I do love my computer games especially mmorpg's. I'm gooner through and through and like to play football when ever I can.
Get rid of this, it doesn't show your social and women hate computer games and football, it may be you, most of us are like this but you shouldn't tell women that. Instead put your sporty because you like to keep fit and healthy you try to keep fit by playing football of a weekend, but if not a walk on the beach will suffice (girls love this stuff)

I'm pretty easy going and enjoy a good bit of banter. I'm allways up for a laugh and am up for going anywhere on a first date. I'm a big fan of music and love heavy metal and going down Sound circus to mosh out
Thats fine, might reword it, adding interesting places to go, instead of anywhere to show what you like.

You need to add some stuff that makes you stand out from joe blogs average, things you've got achievements in or are good at.

I'm new to POF and have got a general question that someone maybe able to help with:

Whats with the "meet me" messages I get, surely there should be a little bit more communication before we get to that stage or is this the way someone expresses that they are interested and further contact should begin?

I think I'm missing something, whats the etiquette/protocol here?

I'd lose the piercings and the beard.

Women are not really into that stuff much. A bit of stubble and/or a stud in the ear, but dangling hoops and metal in the mouth is not something at the top of most womens wishlist.

The meet me feature just cycles through people pictures and you click if you want to meet them or not. You can try contacting them if they have picked you out but don't take it too seriously.

I made an OkCupid account a few months back. Sent out a fair few messages, but I either get no reply or a really short terse reply that shows a complete lack of interest.
 
Been on PoF a while, but I desperately need new pics. I get the feeling that a lot of girls are put off by the pics. Sent messages to a few girls now to not have any replies :/

Critique would be very welcome, I need update my photos (hair is 2/2.5 inch shorter now, and the beard is quite trimmed back (No. 1). Found a mate on there, and she said my profile text was ok, but would be nice to get a wider opinion on it. Obvs doing something wrong if I haven't had any replys from any convos I've initiated yet.
