*** Internet Explorer 9 Final Released ***

How the hell do you do it!? I've unlocked the toolbars and tried to drag it but it's having none of it.

FYI - I've got the Tabs showing below the URL box, but I want them under the Favourites bar, not above it:

I've just installed IE9 for the first time (I never bothered with the beta) I've got to say I'm really impressed with it! I really like the new UI and the performance isn't too bad either.

I want to setup the Tracking Protection List feature, but I'm not sure which list to install from the IE9 test drive website or should I use the Fanboy Adblock list mentioned earlier in the thread, which is best?

Same here really on my laptop (gonna leave IE8 on PC for now). Seems pretty fast tbh and nicely laid out, though it is going to take some getting used to...

Getting used to it will take a couple of weeks..when I instinctivly go to clock on another tab I keep diving the mouse under the adress bar..forgetting its to the right of it!

RTM still has the issue that the Beta had... scrolling or any form of animation causes a media player to stutter. 1080p playback becomes very choppy. As soon as software rendering is enabled, problem solved.

:(

I am very happy to go back to only IE after uaing Chrome and IE8. I found lots of banks didnt work with Chrome and in the last few weeks Chrome has kept complaining about missing dll files ; nspr4, plc4, msvcr.80 etc.
At last Roboform works perfectly not as an add on to Chrome

Love it, snappy and like the minimalist interface.

This.

Oh, and lol Kahn.

'Wah wah wah can't have tabs and the address bar on separate lines IE9 sux'.
'Uh, yes you can'.
'Oh, lol'.

Remember kids, it's cool to hate MS, even if you're talking **** :D.

Anyway I actually prefer it with the tabs and address bar on the same line, I think it looks cleaner / more minimalist that way.

Only thing I don't like so far, and this is being super-ultra-picky, is why they have wasted space above the address bar.

Even when maximised, the address bar sits below the minimise / maximise / close buttons top right:

Another thing, I wonder why quick tabs is now disabled by default? I like that feature so have re-enabled it.

Wow, a great step in the right direction

No proper adblock support = a no go for me though

Just use the TPL stuff. It works suprisingly well and auto-updates if you subscribe to the list.

Had no adverts at all that I can think of since using that.

Just updated to IE9 yesterday and I have to say im impressed.

Nice speed improvements over previous versions and I like the new layout also.

lso removed the annoying clicking noise from gfx card when using smooth scroll and hardware acceleration! :D

Downloaded it over the weekend, seems fine for my general needs so no issues here.

Although having said that, I really had no issues with IE7 or IE8.

a browser with no adblocking:

firefox with adblock plus vs IE9 with the TPL list from above. ok so it's blocking the advert but come on...... :D:D:D

edit: i had to change the filename of the first image because the TPL list was so dumb that it blocked it.

Wow... So bitter about a web browser... And yet still you troll this thread when supposedly you have no interest in IE9.

It's a first pass by the adblock folks at using TPL. If you want Ads blocked completely along with IP scarmabling and a bunch of other stuff Admuncher works well with IE9 producing much the same results as Adblock on FF above.

If you're not going to contribute anything useful go troll somewhere else plskthxbye
