** iOS 8 **

At risk of sounding like everyone who installs a new version of iOS... I can't help but think my battery is draining fast. It's 11am, phone came off overnight charge at 100% at 8pm. Few texts this morning and I'm at 88%.

Settings/General/Usage/Battery Usage and you can see what's sucking your battery.

Yup, all done with no problems whatsoever. I started it going and went and watched GBBO while it did it. I have no idea how long it took but it was all over and sorted by the time the Princess cake came out of the oven!

Still finding out about new things but it's working well. I think it's a little quicker than iOS7 although that may be my imagination.

Perfect :) I'll drop you a PM for info on the iOS 8 GM IPSW

They're not too hard to find, I found one on Mega which gave a really good download speed but this might have what you want.
Once you've got the file, plug the phone into iTunes, option-click on Update, it will give you the change to select a file to use and then just let it do what it wants.

Sorted.

The auto brightness is much faster to react and seems somewhat better in iOS 8. It's not going anywhere near as bright as it did before and as the room light changes, the screen is getting brighter and darker much quicker. I reckon that will improve battery life.

Now running iOS 8 on iPhone 5.

Sadly it didn't go without smoothly. I cannot stress enough, BACKUP before upgrading!

Thankfully, I did do a backup via iTunes and extract all my photos and videos. I applied the upgrade but it failed at about 90%. I unplugged the iPhone and had to go into recovery mode. Restored and re-applied iOS 8 which worked. Then re-sync my apps and all working as expected.

One thing I've noticed is Camera Roll is no-more..? Which is fine, as I've been meaning to organise and sort all my photos so this will encourage me to do so.

I do consider myself pretty tech savvy buy what version of iOS 8 firmware do I need for my iPad Wi-Fi with Retina Display MD514B/A? Yes I have searched everywhere for the info.

What is good however is if I add photo's into iPhoto they now show up on my phone, so i've got my entire collection with me at all times now (assuming you have enough iCloud storage)
