** iOS 8 **

So come on folks, those of you who have downloaded and installed the GM - What do you think of it? I've got the file now and will install it on my iPhone 5 when I get home this evening.

Didn't use the beta so I have no experience of improvements over that. The new QuickType keyboard is actually quite good, I didn't think it would work for me but it does.

Haven't had much of a play around yet. All of my daily apps are working without incident (touch of slowness sometimes in FB Messenger) but those fixes are down to individual apps.

Interactive notifications are nice, I've enjoyed them so far. I don't use iMessage/SMS that much though so once other apps bring them in that will be even better.

What else is new?? Seems like more of a polish release than a feature-packed one. That is, at least, until the devs bring out apps taking advantage of the new stuff.

Well it's as you'd expect really in terms of features, some aren't going to be of any value until the official release (iCloud Drive, location sharing in Messages). I've just tried to have a phone call and it kept cutting out however, so I'd hold off unless it's just my phone. It's definitely a little quicker than iOS 7 was though.

Worth mentioning that Alien Blue (for those who surf reddit) isn't working fully right now. Apparently you can't post, and Top/Hot/New options don't work.

The interactive notifications are what I'm looking forward to most for daily usage. Thing is, if Apple could improve iMessage's reliability, it'd be fantastic. However in my experience, it's unusable.

They've got 2.9 in the works which, apparently, should be very close to the official iOS 8 release.

Oh joy. I downloaded the GM and went to install - now iTunes is stuck in a crash loop. Apparently its a bug with iTunes 12 and the only way to fix it is to use a mac with mavericks rather then Yosemite, so now I'm stuck with an unusable iTunes and an unusable phone. Any ideas? :/

-edit-
Nvm, sorted it.

Fixed iTunes? Or did you also manage to install the GM with Yosemite?

Did you make it Feek? :(
Yup, all done with no problems whatsoever. I started it going and went and watched GBBO while it did it. I have no idea how long it took but it was all over and sorted by the time the Princess cake came out of the oven!

Still finding out about new things but it's working well. I think it's a little quicker than iOS7 although that may be my imagination.
