iPad Mini...

LOL, I think this feeling only lasts about a week. I know when I got my iPod touch 5th gen, I was washing my hands before using it, wiping the screen with a lint-free cloth, etc. Now I've had it a couple of months I've stopped fawning over it and just use the damn thing. :D

I'm constantly wiping my iPhone and iPad screens, it's ridiculous but smudges drive me up the wall. I hate them! :p :(

Yeah this is true. I just think its part of the honeymoon period. If I was to be really anal I guess I could play the ipad lottery and get a swap out for the marked home button or the slight gaps in the bezel, but really what's the point. As long as the device functions fine which it does, it's not a big deal and plus you risk getting a replacement device that has even worse problems.

It does make me wonder though how many people out there have dodgy devices but just simply don't care and use them as normal.

If you look closely enough at any device then you will find flaws. I just couldn't ignore the blue plastic between the bezel and the screen cos' it was sticking out by about 2mm on a 2-3cm strip.

Apple sells their devices as premium. And they are... to a point... but they are churned out by the million in Chinese factories... and in my case, QC was on a break when it was "checked".

Did the gap in the bezel really annoy you that much though? You can hardly notice it.

I've only had mine a few days and have already put a small knick in the bezel :-p , that chamfered edging wasn't really the best design choice imo but ****it, I made a conscious choice a long time ago to just enjoy my Mobil tech, I used to wrap my gear in cases and polish them on a daily basis but meh, now I throw my mini about without a second thought, I think you genuinely enjoy the product more when your not consantly worrying about every little scratch or knock it may get, just grab it and enjoy it.

Yeah this is very true indeed and to be honest it's always going to be impossible to protector it from every single scratch and scuff.

One thing I did notice earlier on that worried me a bit though, I was cleaning my screen on a flat surface with my cloth and I was applying a bit of pressure and I noticed that the screen has a little 'give' in it when pressure is applied. I assume this is because the screen is probably so thin but can anyone else confirm this?

Some dude on youtube has a video of it:

Cheers

Well just been reading last few post, and I defo would send it back . I've not got any of the above problems with my white mini and it gets bashed around by the kids and wife.

I just think people are more passive than others and chances are you're not noticing the same things that we are. From what I've read every ipad has the screen bend thing when you apply pressure on

Just been looking and no screen bend like that YouTube video

Just watched the video and tested mine. Nothing like the video on mine either . If it was me i would take it back if the screen and bezel had a gap.

You have to make sure it's on a flat surface and look close, the reason it looks so bad in that video is because of the camera angle.

tried the same test on a friends in work again a white 16g mini and no flex in the screen and the bezel is a good snug fit like mine.

Jesus christ Tom, stop looking for faults where there aren't any and just use the damn thing.

:D :D :D

I have a reason to come into this sub-forum now :p I love it when Tom gets a new tech. device! :D

Haha nah, it is annoying when everyone says there's is fine though. I always end up with a faulty unit! Not to bothered though really. It works fine.
