iPad owners upgrading to iPad 2?

No...ive realised that what I really use it for...browsing, pictures and vids to show other poeple....mess abotu with a lot of Dj'ing music apps.....but really jsut enjoy laying back in bed jumping about the net...I also like the Project magazine...so nothing to upgrade IMO.

There are a few things Apple will stick to.

1 - yearly renewal for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch.
2 - no SD card slot, this allows expansion and that defeats the point of the memory size tier sales pitch and it opens the device to install/corrupt from external source. Apple likes control, so this will never happen.
3 - retina, not for at least 2 generations at least, just think of the cost, if you think the iPad is expensive now, DO NOT MOAN if they put retina in an charges £500 more. Because that's going to happen.

To be fair though the iPad/iOS already supports SD cards - just through a ~£30 bit of plastic, so I think the real reason lies somewhere between accessory sales and keeping the cost of the iPad to a minimum.

An integrated SD card reader makes a lot of sense for something like the iPad and I think as competition increases we'll see it eventually.

I haven't decided whether I'm going to get an iPad2 yet. I have a 16GB WiFi one at the moment and I fancy a 3G one.
It will all come down to games and apps for me. 4.3 has made web browsing much better (Look at Boston Big Picture on 4.2 then on 4.3) so my main bugbear with the iPad is fixed.

But you can only use that for photos can you not?

Anyone with an eyepad 1 is wasting their money upgrading to an eyepad 2.

Initially yes, well unless they use the camera (although personally don;t have any need at all for cameras on a tablet). I think these specs are in preparation for IOS5, I think it will have a big overhaul. They seem to off seen the threat from android and delivered the ipad2 which is looking very good up against the android version.

I agree. I have sold my iPad 1 and my mate is bringing me an iPad 2 from the states on Wednesday :)

Agreed with this statement.

I'm thinking of doing the same, they are cheaper in the states. I love my iPad, the extra performance will be nice along with the camera's. The lack of which has been my one complaint about the iPad.

Performance is my biggest reason to upgrade. I am always emailing, checking ebay, using pages and numbers etc and it has become frustrating recently. I hate being faster than a computer and just want to get the job done.

Target in the US are doing a trade-in scheme where you can trade your iPad 1 in for store credit towards the iPad 2. Think anywhere here will do similar? Secondhand market is pretty poor really now :/

Is there a way to add storage from another device?

There's no usb, is it possible over wifi or some apple cable. I'm pretty sure there isn't but thought I would ask.

I'll be upgrading. Only an hour ago I successfully sold my iPad 32GB WiFi + 3G for $450. The guy was impressed that it really was in mint condition and as he wanted it for his kids he didn't need the latest. Worked out well for both parties. :)
