iPad owners upgrading to iPad 2?

I sold my iPad 16GB WIFI for £330 5 days before the keynote and price drop as I can live without it for a month, my iPhone I couldn't :p

I'm gonna get the iPad2 as soon its the 25th hopefully ;)

I think im going to skip this gen, v3 will be a much more substantial upgrade.

I doubt it, it will be another revision, probably smaller than this one. You hardly ever get substantial upgrades with any device. Look at android, it is always slight upgrades never revolution. As you aren't making a new device.

I expect slightly thinner and lighter again, 1Gb ram and a better screen, better camera. that'll be it.

Some worrying pictures of screen bleed on the pad2 floating about :/

This why when they're released in Canada I'll be waiting for the dust to settle from the stampede of those who must be first. Not surprised problems occur with the number required for respective launches.

It will be a substantial upgrade in respect of going from v1 to v3 as opposed to v1 to v2.

EDIT: Mind you having said this.... please wait.
EDIT2: These GPU benchies blow the mind - http://www.anandtech.com/Show/Index...rmance-explored-powervr-sgx543mp2-benchmarked

It's not a fault, it's a feature. It's only activated by people holding it incorrectly.

Apple will be releasing an iPatch to stick over any affected areas,
nothing to see here, move along.

Bad batch probably. They don't say what the backlight settings are though. If it's only visible on 100% then it's not that big a deal because you need sunglasses on at that setting. Only seen that one video and one story on Engadget, where some of the people in the comments had it, and others didn't.

The reality is that the ipad came with a gpu which was originally in the iphone 3gs. So going from old tech (at the release of ipad) to the cutting edge a year later was going to be a massive jump.

It is interesting to see that no one else decided to use the SGX543 on this round of SoCs. Even TI who usually go with SGX processors stuck with an overclocked 540.

This time around the ipad is ahead of the market in graphics processing. Perhaps they are hoping games producers will start making high quality titles. Will be interesting to see if the market responds, as otherwise the sgx535 was adequate for gpu acceleration with most of the real world gains being due to the second processor.

What is the fascination with un boxing videos. I hate them with a passion as they show nothing!! Just show us the damn device in action!
