*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

 at car USB not working!

Ah phew, just done some googling.

What Apple are referring to as "iPod Out" is the way that some cars (2011 BMWs IIRC) are able to get the iPod/iPhones UI on the cars screen.

Any car that just grabs the tracks (audio+meta) out of the iPod/iPhone will be fine.

^^ that connector looks a bit "long" ? any risk of damage to phone ?

line-out gone is annoying -I guess it will stop a lot of current speaker docks working, car stereos (older ones) which use analogue line-out with no control etc, external headphone amps etc :(

the car one could use headphone out but never as good

can't believe i'm doing this again...did it for the 4, the disappointing 4s, the ipad 3 and now this. Need to get a ASBO to ban me from buying any more apple products!

Lol fanbois and their blind love for wasting money on apple because they release something new.

Looking forward to seeing some reviews come out along with user comparisons between this and the Android phones. Might just stick with Android at this rate, at least the contract deals will be far superior and the phone will be a good few hundred ££ cheaper also.

Bring on the fight :D

Apple isn't ahead in the hardware anymore, well, we're they ever? Except the retina display. People buy iPhone for the OS (and fashionable to do so, like blackberry was) and its got to a point for me where the new phone is meh. Extra row of screen size? At least make it extra row x and y axis, that would be more logical, keeping the ratio and make real grounds in keeping up with screen estate. Purely longer seems weird.

I like apple product but I might give this one, and the next iPhone a miss as I don't see any real grounds being made, more over, I can use iOS 6 on my current phone anyway.

Indeed, from the hype I just expected a little more. But that's what happens when being caught in the hype.

I never saw what the fuss was over the Retina display, but then again I only have an iphone 4 and in comparison to my old old HTC Desire the screen is rubbish and grey. But I love the way the 4 just works, whereas my Desire needed rooting, lack of memory, hassle to sort out ROMS, frequent crashing. But then again there's something about even old android (I'm still pre-Froyo update :p) that I love vs. some annoying quirks of the apple OS.

At the moment I'm out of contract and still have my Desire, pay £5pcm from 100 mins, loads of tects and 500Mb data on a 30 day rolling contract. Then I have the work iphone 4 to use for whatever else I need. Might just stick with my current setup, £5pcm isn't bad for 2 phones :D

Apparently even with the adapter none of the previous functionality will work on your peripherals - No iPod out, No analogue audio and no video - the adapter is effectively a charger changer... for a premium... Oh and the new cable... USB2 not 3.

Well that's laughable, I think it maybe time for a switch. As much as I love the apps and store I can do without them on my phone now and have an ipad with them on anyway.
