*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

Wow, that's impressive if true. Where is it from?

Quite how the One S can be behind the Nexus 7 is beyond me though. Also, that S3 has 1GB, not 2.

I am in the same position as you - I went in to a Carphone Warehouse shop yesterday and they looked up the order (just with my name and D.O.B) and confirmed that the order is all good.

I was surprised to have had no confirmation e-mail or anything - guess they are just super busy - dunno.

Glad to hear that they can also check your order in store. I'm going to go to my local CPW tomorrow, it's only two minutes away from my house, and try to get some sort of confirmation that I can see to tell me that everything is OK and i will have my iPhone on Friday, instead of just being told it over the phone.

I might sound a little OTT or OCD, but I need my iPhone on Friday.

Those bench marks just make me feel sad that it is sharing a ios with the older devices. Surely with that extra grunt they could have done some amazing things with the UI?

Had a walk around the phone shops earlier to get a hands on of the SGSIII and Nokia 900 (thinking 920) But it's just confused me more lol. I know for a fact this thing is going to feel like a proper quality product, The others feel a bit dare I say it cheap :/ aaaggghhhh

Impressive benchmarks, 3 times faster than the 4S and knocks any of the current competition out the water baring in mind the 5 has 2 cores and 1GB RAM, S3 has 4 cores and 2GB[/QUOTE]

Wow! Very impressive! :)

Lot's of duff results. Looking at individual results the One S gets ~1600 and SGS3 ~1800.

Geekbench is a pointless number like Quadrant and Anatutu. Wait for tangible benchmarks or scenarios :)
Saying that the A6 still looks very similar to OMAP 5 at 1Ghz, inc the 544mp2 GPU. It'll be interesting to see what they've done.

If you do a search for all S3 results:

http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/search?q=Samsung+Galaxy+S+III+

You'll see that many of them appear to have been done with only 1 or 2 cores active. The ones that say 4 cores seem to get 1800-2000 points, but the much lower scores that say 1. 2 or 3 cores bring the average down.

Still, it seems an impressive score for the iphone 5 if real.

Blimey, double speed over the 4S is quite a step up, am I right in saying that it will be quite a bit faster as the new iPad also as that was also the same speed as the iPad 2nd Gen.

If so I'm tempted to see what Apple bring to the next iPad update...
2xARMv7's in quad core config?

Has anyone on Vodafone PAYG contacted them to do a SIM swap to a nano? Any news on if they can do it before Friday?

I've temporarily moved from giffgaff to Vodafone (would loved to have gone to 3 but they have no coverage in my house!) and would like to try and get a nano SIM before Friday, even if it means going into a local store.

Cheers!

Also; re Vodafone!

Went in to one of the stores in Leicester city centre, asked if I could pick up a nano sim on day of release, confirmed that I would be able to come in on the day of release and pick one up and transfer to it from my current micro sim.
