iPhone 5 Tariffs

Looks like O2 won't have their pre-orders sent out for delivery on Friday the 21st.

O2 really are a joke and they never have their customers best intentions at heart.

Girlfriend is on vodafone sim only deal at the moment. On Sunday she ordered from the upgrade page a 16GB Iphone5 on the 500mb data, unlimited texts 600 mins deal.

Will they automatically give her a nano sim with her current number?

Seems you can file down a microsim to fit a nanosim slot.... looks like Virgin Mobile are top of the pile again.
Hmmm...

Managed to pick up my nano sim from the o2 store today. Comes with a standard and micro sim adaptor too. So i will move my sim over tonight, use it in my ip4 until friday when im good to go :)

I wish Tmobile would let people know what the deal is with pre-order shipping.

Couldnt agree more. I don't mind not getting on Friday but it would be good to just know a estimated delivery that way I can organise to be here to sign for etc.

Looking at the tweets to the TmobileHelp account everyone is asking the same and all they keep saying is 'we will aim to get the phone to you on launch day or within 30 days after it has been release'....

Quick Question if anyone can help me please

I have upgraded through o2, not the best deal by a long stretch however i cant be arsed switching and faffing around. Got a white 32gb coming but not for around 3 weeks.

Will they send me the correct sim i need or do i need to place an order for one of those too?

Thanks Chaps

Sam

Looks like I'm giving O2 up, as I've outright bought my iPhone 5 from Apple.

Whats the best deal for sim only contracts? Whats the best visual voicemail app out there? Thats going to be the one thing I really miss by leaving O2.

Everything Everywhere today said:
Orange and T-Mobile today announced they will offer iPhone 5 in the UK beginning Friday, September 21. Customers can pre-order iPhone 5 through all retail stores, via telesales and online at www.orange.co.uk/iphone5 and www.t-mobile.co.uk/iphone5. Orange and T-Mobile will allow iPhone 5 customers to connect to its fast HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA networks with Wideband Audio. EE will offer iPhone 5 on its 4G LTE network with Wideband Audio when it launches in the coming weeks.

iPhone 5 is the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever, completely redesigned to feature a stunning new 4-inch Retina display; an Apple-designed A6 chip for blazing fast performance; and ultrafast wireless technology—all while delivering even better battery life. iPhone 5 comes with iOS 6, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system with over 200 new features including: the all new Maps app with Apple-designed cartography and turn-by-turn navigation; Facebook integration; Passbook organization and even more Siri features and languages.

“We are thrilled to offer iPhone 5 to our Orange and T-Mobile customers and look forward to launching EE’s superfast 4G service in the coming weeks for iPhone 5 customers to enjoy all the phone’s amazing new features on our new network,” said Pippa Dunn, Chief Marketing Officer, Consumer, EE. “Anyone purchasing iPhone 5 on Orange or T-Mobile will also have the option to upgrade to EE’s 4G network as soon as it launches.”

Orange and T-Mobile customers will enjoy faster 3G thanks to the fact they will be on the UK’s biggest and best 3G and 2G network. iPhone 5 customers on EE will get access to 4G, delivering superfast mobile internet speeds, typically five times faster than the current average 3G speeds. EE’s pioneering new superfast 4G service will launch in the coming weeks and will be available in 16 major UK cities, covering 20 million people by Christmas. Customers of all three brands will be served by Britain’s biggest, fastest and most reliable network.

If Orange and T-Mobile iPhone 5 customers want to upgrade to the new superfast EE 4G service when it launches in the coming weeks – or at any point in their existing contract- then the process will be made as simple as possible. If their new EE plan is the same term and price per month or more than their existing plan, the move will be at no additional cost.

Think I going to do this too. Which model did you go for?

Slightly off-topic, is quidco worth joining? Everyone seems to use them?

The best value tarrif by a good way is Virgin Mobile. It does have it's issues; you need to buy a nano sim cutter and then sand the back of the sim down to nano size, and also manually set the APN settings. I'm weighing up whether this is worth it vs something else a bit more pricy.
