Iphone 5 why so underwhelming?

Found this amusing! :D

:p

Must say the lumia 920 does look superb! (although hate the design!) Much better than HTC's offerings......

I'm looking forward to comparing the 920 with the iPhone 5 (when I get them both). I think the 920 could really help put WP on the map...

I think it would be useful here in Norway as a lot of people go skiing, so you can use your phone without taking your gloves off, but - the gloves are usually quite thick so it would be fiddly - and you'd also end up with snow all over your phone so it would probably break. :p

Good for the chilly weather when it's not raining/snowing though.

Just use something else rather than gloves. Apparently you can operate it, with pretty much anything.

Just why can't they be released allready. Saying that need tablet first.

Hummppppphhhhh I'm impatient.

I considered your points and asked you questions, why did you feel the need to respond with nothing but abuse? The only thing I've learned is in both cases I've wasted my time responding to you, I'll try not to make the same mistake.

You've asked questions based on assumptions of what I meant rather than actually asking questions based on what I wrote.

Lumia 900 600nits brightness? try around 425nits :p

I love how they left sRGB colour gamut out of that comparison!

Well ofc its to make Nokia seem best.

What happens if your phone unlocks in your pocket, well the screen work when its pushed against your contents of your pocket or leg?

Most of that is actually BS. Nexus should be ashamed for linking it... :D The brightness and light performance figures/images were taken from displaymates old shootout. (Note how the OG Galaxy S gets the same result as the 900, those are the margins we're talking about)
It's a One X screen with slightly better anti glare, deal with it Nokia fanboys. :p (I'd take a XL over the 920. Actually no I wouldn't, not with the current state of HTC software support)

only I-diots buy apple stuff, after i got the ipod classic i will never buy apple stuff again, itunes is sucks and im forced to use it, for what it does its not worth the money, i should have gone for a less branded mp3 product at least it would have offered more freedom, i cant even transfer my music to my laptop because its apparently saved to my pc, WTF! LOL.

all the people who have got a iphone on my facebook are totally clueless when it comes to technology. the iphone 5 isnt even world beater hardware either and the software is awful and restrictive. S3 already beats it flat out with custom roms which are easy to install, id expect anyone on this site to able to install them without effort, without custom roms i think it beats it on benchmarks with the regular jelly bean update and it was out months before the iphone 5.

No you aren't, there's a plethora of software that does the same thing. Drag and drop isn't quite as easy but it's doable.

What? I assume you mean music bought on iTunes? It's DRM free, just copy it over. I literally just transferred a song over to my laptop, played fine.

Who cares? Really, it does what they want and therefor it's the best phone for them. Why would people who aren't technologically minded want a phone that you have to mess about with to get the best out of it?

I think this is a false point as well. Out of the box the Android phones are just as easy to set up.

Android is actual less hassle untill lately you had to connect your phone to the PC and download itunes and blah blah, android it just worked

But to stick with the OP I would say for me the lack of notification light is a huge blow, using a phone without it is horrible. The lack of SD card is annoying, 16GB really isnt enough and the price of going up to 32/64gb is just robbery. Finally I believe iOS needs to be a more risky OS and try push things forward.

I don't know why some people think you have to mess around with an Android phone to get it working  The same people who say iPhone "just works".... as if to say Samsung Galaxy doesn't out of the box?? :p I know Android attracts techies for its open OS but doesn't mean you have to root, add widgets etc to have a fully functional phone.

Register or enter existing email address and viola you can use the phone for its basic features - phone and text.

I said the best. They're fine out of the box but they're better modded.

+1

The most you need to do is put the sim card in, wifi password(s) and email account details, just like any other phone.

I said the best, not just a usable phone. Sure the S3 might be faster after installing Cyanogen or what have you but are most people going to bothered to do that?

I've been using my ipod classic (5th gen) since pretty much release date.

The only problem i have ever had with it was when it stopped working for about 3 hours after i left it in full 50+ degree sun for most of a day.

Haven't had a single issue with iTunes ever. Infact even if i got rid of my ipod i'd still use it out of choice because it works just fine.

In real world use there is barely a difference so it's still a moot point. Out of the box works just fine for the majority of non 'technologically minded' people.

My mums OneS is 100% stock with the exception of swiftkey, mine i've changed pretty much as much as possible without rooting. Is there a noticeable difference when i just want to copy a picture over via bluetooth? Not a chance. If anything mine is worse because i don't use the stock gallery so someone new might not even be able to do it :D

I dont think it's underwhelming, it's just that it was expected to beat all competition by miles and deliver something not seen before, and it doesn't. Expectations for it were too high due to the hype. Now people have shelled out a LOT of money for one, they probably start to regret it.
