30 minutes after I'd been in the shop, I got a call from the guy who sold me the phone asking how to unlock them
Hehe, quality. They must know what goes on with these phones, they can't be that daft. I mean if they're tying phone sku/barcodes into customer's credit cards at the POS - they must be able to search their DD mandates on new 18 month contracts to see if they've been activated (or IMEI number) etc...
The guy that sold me mine was most impressed that I was in the shop at 9.01, he found at 8.30 that morning. He chuckled when I asked for two, and said I'd be OK activating myself...

If you're using it as an iTouch, then you may as well have a PAYG SIM in it too, as said above

The 8G phone is cheaper than an 8G touch anyway so it's actually good value ipod.

Having just grabbed one from the CPW I was sure I was going to use the Zip Util to do the Unlock, Jailbreak & Activate. However I've been reading that it downgrades the bootloader and that is a bad thing, as there is no ability to upgrade it again?
Then there is the Pwnage Tool? Which seems on the face of it the best option. Is this now the case.
