Whats the cheapest package for unlimited web browsing? Would prefer it on PAYG. O2 seem the best, but apparantly the Mail app doesn't work on it and you need to tweak it to get EDGE to work.

yea me to. but i rang up on thursday night as i had no email saying it had been sent and they said they were out of stock. about 9pm i had a text saying it had been sent and it arrived friday morning.

Have you checked the safari settings? There's an option to turn cookies on or off.

Worth a shot.

I know this has been asked 100 times but for my own peace of mind im going to ask again.

I buy this online through CPW for £169, unlock it when it arrives and stick my current orange sim in it and that o2 or CPW can't turn around and say i owe them £x as i didn't sign up to an o2 contract?

Ya as you havn't signed any contract have you? All you are doing is buying a piece of hardware nothing else. Same as I did when i bought my unlocked blackberry from Carphone Warehouse.

No i wouldn't have signed up to a contract but i would be buying it with the understanding that i have to sign up to one through itunes(?) when it arrives. Just want to make sure o2 or CPW can't turn around and say i have to pay the sim free price if i don't sign up to one.

The way i see it is that when v2 comes out you should be able to sell the iphone for a good price and get most of your money back and you still get to use it while you wait for the new version.

I'm using my iphone with a virgin sim. I've been using wi-fi since yesterday but having just checked my virgin account, I'm being charged for "accessing other sites".

How can this be? I have never set up any virgin GPRS settings.

Try this:

SSH into the phone, run these commands:

chown mobile:wheel /var/mobile/Library/Cookies
chown mobile:mobile /var/mobile/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
chmod 755 /var/mobile/Library/Cookies
chmod 644 /var/mobile/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist

Restart phone, and see if it's worked.

edit - Works for me, just restarted the phone and the forum was still logged in as me.
