Iphone OS 3.0...

It was - got pulled from the App Store but those who had bought it got to keep it. It's DRM attached to my iTunes account.

I gather there are a couple of jailbreak-land tethering apps, anyway..

I bought Netshare but then lost it in a format. I went to the app store and lo behold I can't re-download it. I think it's a bit off since I've paid for it, but then maybe it's my fault for not backing it up.

Sounds like grounds for a refund if you can be fussed contacting Apple!

There will be a new iphone and the OS 3.0 will launch on it and be avialable as a firmware update to all current iphone owners.

It'll be June before this happens though.

We are only getting a preview on Tuesday.

I cant say 100% no but I will say 99% sure.
There is too much information regarding arm processors used with iphones.

Anyone can dole out stuff like this as if it is fact. What are your credentials?

This news has pretty much stopped me buying a 16Gb iPhone 3G this weekend. Im confused by the rumours as I first heard about the 'cheaper/smaller' iPhone Nano and then about the new software upgrade.

Considering its a major release I cant see how Apple wont capitialise by making a new model. I just hope its either inferior to the existing one so I can then go ahead and get the 3G, or out way next year so its not an option.

If a new model is annonunced I will be trying to persuade O2 to reduce the phone cost, especially since they are rumoured to be dropping them anyway in May (bit too long wait for me tbh)

Just found out that the new software should have MMS, Copy Paste in it and possible full bluetooth, and also Orange may try and get the iphone as well.

Also o2 may do like they did when the 3g came out and have a month where you can upgrade to the new phone in your contract

Yeah, I don't see why they can't do bluetooth for image/file transfers, but exclude music to keep the music corps happy.

I havn't found a way to do so. And if u create them on a mac iirc u can't transfer tehm to a windows enviroment.

Phones don't have to suck at it. The iPhone sucks at it, sure. But the Nokia N95, N96, Blackberry bold certainly don't.
