all of you planning to buy an iphone and unlock may be in for a bit of a shock (at present), the uk release is coming with a newly updated os which blocks the tiff exploit meaning it can't be jailbroken. Might take a while to be hacked again

Is it true if you buy the Iphone in france its unlocked as their laws wont let anyone sell a locked phone?

Or is my mate winding me up...

I want one! :p

My parents are back to see my from Portugal, let me see if i can get them to pay for the contract? Hmmmm, not going to be easy as my current contract is £5 a month on a "Three" Contract.

Josh

i have one.. i think i am going to sell it tho cos i cant get my number out of this three contract and i have like a year to go!! sux!

yeah i think i am going to sell it... i guess i am off to put it on thebay

if anyone want to chat to me about my iphone for any reason :) you can email me - its my msn one in trust :) -

I'm quite tempted

But currently have 8 months left on my Vodafone contract

Any suggestions of how I can get out of that? Would o2 buy out the rest of my contract or anything similar?

I have to say they look lovely - but the price of me getting one would just be astronomical. I expect the fee to cancel my existing contract would be about £300, the iphone is £270, and 18 months at £35 is another £630 - total cost £1200. Macbook Pro or iPhone?

(I know the existing contract isn't really fair to include, but I'm actually very impressed that existing O2 customers (before September) can cancel their existing contract for free - O2 must be making lots of profit on the iPhone contracts for that to be worthwhile for them, someone could quite feasibly have got a free N95 in September on a high tariff, paid 2 months line rental, and now cancelled that for free and got an iPhone on the same terms as a new customer)

Well its going to cost me 180 to cancel my existing contract, 270 for the phone, so I'm tempted even at that price

Damn apple and their overly sexy gadgets

Shame O2 sucks. :p
I used to think that until I moved to them from T-Mobile. Email support that replies the same business day, the best quality network in terms of coverage that I've ever been on, and short wait times to speak to them on the phone.

30% off any in-store tariff helps too, but I'd probably be with them even without that.

I've been on Orange, T-Mobile and O2 in the last few years, and it would take a monumental screw up by O2 to get me to go back.

I'll be strolling aimlessly around the city centre at 5pm tomorrow, hoping to recon the possible queue situation.

I'm not expecting any, but I'll be damned if they'll sell out as I've got the day off :D

Ah well, alls well ends well!
Cost me £300 locked.
Sold for £360 unlocked.

Atleast I can say I had one but it wasn't for me :)

Hope everyone enjoys their phones tomorrow!

I'm considering buying 2 iPhones.. I will just keep 1 until it's hacked (1.1.2 firmware, that is) and flog it on ebay for a profit :)
