iPhone - Those who will be buying one, in here.

I'll be buying one, unsure whether to unlock it or not yet. Or just buy out my current contract and sign up to o2
 
I'd let every one else have a go at the unlocking first. Don't want a bricked iphone on your hands after you plug it into itunes!
 
They hardly need to take down the whole shop for that.. they could have updated it at 6pm (just the iPhone section) and they would have been fine.
 
Can I just ask one silly question?

If a friend buys me one of these today. Can I simply hang on to it, maybe just use it as an iPod touch until an unlocking solution is brought out for it?

Will there be any penaltys/bills from o2 if I do this?

Plus an 18month minimum £35 a month (£630) contract of their choosing (allowance), unless you unlock it of course.

Not if it's like my Touch was, needed plugging into iTunes before you could do anything.

Anyway, I just got back from the bank, and I'm not happy now. :(

New CPU, GFX and PSU for PC or iPhone...? :p

I'm tempted, I really am, but I'm not sure if I want a contract sucking away my money. :o

I'll leave it a few days, if a jailbreak comes out for 1.1.2 before the 8800GT stock sorts itself out I don't think I could stop myself. :o

Email and internet wherever would be mighty handy though..

It's the jailbreak I'm looking for. If that happens soonish I'll sell the touch and get one.
 
Curious here (not trolling) - are the people in this thread buying it because they actually need a new phone or because its another piece of hardware with Apples logo on it?

Need a new phone as my other ones are broken, also the iphone is immense. My Dad's one had me hooked when i was playing on it while up in London!
