A few days judging by the speed they put that command line together I'd say.

Of course, it's not quite as easy as the current jailbreak for 1.1.1, but even so. :)
 
Quite tempted to get one and unlock it from O2 as you don't seem to have to sign up to a contract in store, only thing is I think that I would really miss the HSDPA speeds and the decent camera that I currently have on my N95 :S

Maybe taking down the entire store to add one product was part of their agreement with Apple to keep the user experience consistent with other Apple product releases :p

I just got back.

Luckily my girlfriend was in town already and she saved my place (2nd) in the queue. I got there about 5:50pm so didn't have to wait long :)

Walked through the doors at 6:02pm and straight to the till, ended up buying 2 (1 to unlock). When asked why I wanted two for myself I just said "Buy one, sell one unlocked".. should have seen the look the girl gave me! lol

Got a free box of sweets and some hand-warmers.

Atmosphere was good, a lot of banter with the Phones4u shop across the street :D
 
Just got back from the Oxford carphone warehouse, was quite cool, I was first in line which was wierd considering I only turned up an hour before

It's soooooo sexy lol
 
If you bought 2, have you signed two contracts? This is the thing I don't get about unlocking them, surely you're paying the contract anyway?

I did nothing, I handed over my card and bought them like I would with an iPod.

Just got one.

Wicked. Signed up to O2, ill take it on the chin, see if i can persuade my parents to pay for the contract as my christmas present.

Just seen the channel 4 news story on this, was a bit shady tbh, showing the number to dial your own phone etc. :o

The atmosphere in the regent street store seemed good though:p
 
The iTV news story on about 15 minutes ago showed an iPhone unlocker publically stating that it's "Easy to unlock, and won't break your iPhone like Apple claim".

Interesting that they were trying to make Apple out to be the bad guy because they've locked it to the 02 network.

Oh, and the reason it was 6:02pm? The girl in the 02 store said it's because it was 02's 6th anniversary :rolleyes:

Weird isn't it. I heard on Radio1 this morning they interviewed someone who was a phone unlocker and he was saying wait a week and it will be unlocked. Strange how the media is backing the idea of piracy (I suppose)

Next week is actually the 6th anniversary of O2 being O2 according to wiki, so it might hold some element of truth :)
